Blonde all the Way to the Roots with Madison Reed Root Touch Up

August 27, 2015 By Shelley Zurek 79 Comments

Want to be “Still Blonde?” Madison Reed Root Touch Up

Shelley Zurek Still Blonde after all these Years

When I was young, I was very blonde. Born Blonde. Tow-head Blonde.  As I aged, my hair darkened to a dirty dishwater blonde, and I hated it. As a result, in about the eighth grade, I began a life long process of dying, highlighting, frosting, and coloring my hair.

While I have always loved being “Still Blonde”, sometimes root maintenance is tiring. I really should go in for root touch up every six-eight weeks, but truth be told I usually just go in when my roots get uber scary. Like this!

Mason Reed Root Touch Up

True Confession: I usually don’t make an appointment to get my hair done until the situation is this bad. One big combo of dark roots and gray…ughh! Yet, because of my devil-may-care attitude, I often can’t get into my stylist when I need to (Appointment? What’s THAT?)

Madison Reed Root Touch Up– The Solution?

Recently, Madison Reed contacted me and asked me to write a compensated review about their Root Touch Up powder. I said, “Sure thing!” I am all about trying to find temporary products to cover my roots until I can get into the hair salon. Having tried temporary root sprays, mascaras, and colors, I can tell you I was a tad leery. But I do need a solution when I am in need of a quick hair root touch-up in between coloring appointments…especially if I have a photo shoot I need to get done or an important event to attend!

Root Touch Up: It’s Like Makeup for Hair

I found this Madison Reed Root Touch Up video very informative to quickly explain the process of applying Root Touch Up. From the 1 minute video, I really did see how Root Touch Up is like makeup for hair. What’s your impression?

Madison Reed Root Touch Up — What is it?

Mason Reed Root Touch UP

Madison Reed’s best selling Root Touch Up is a lightweight powder concealer to cover roots and grays. All Madison Reed products are free of the usual chemicals found in many hair color brands so your scalp won’t end up irritated. If you need a quick hair root touch-up, because you forgot to make your hair appointment (like me) or don’t have time to color at home, this easy to use powder is your solution.

Where can I buy Madison Reed Root Touch UP?

You can find all seven shades online at Madison-reed.com and Sephora.com. And now, with an exciting new partnership with Sephora, Madison Reed’s Root Touch Up will be available in Sephora stores for $30 in four shades: Dark Brown, Medium Brown, Light Golden Brown and Auburn Red.

PSST: HURRY right now until 8/31 you can get a complimentary brow brush at checkout, which is valued at $7.95 when your purchase Root Touch Up.  Just use this special URL when you head over to Madison Reed to make your purchase.

This looks like an amazing product. I dyed my hair for years and hated the root problem. I almost have my hair back to my natural greying color so have no real need anymore.

Root Touch Up does sound great, it really is like makeup for hair. I love that it’s water resistant and you can use it on eyebrows. What an interesting product, definitely something to try.

This is so good to know about. I used to dye my hair, but then I was in an accident. Seems like I have stopped taking care of myself. It is so much harder, so I just don’t do it. But now I don’t have an excuse. Now there is a product that can help supplement my hair on days when I don’t want to dye my hair, yet my hair needs it.

For budget reasons, going to someone to get my hair done is not often going to be an option…this kit sounds like something that would be a great help! (gray…..who needs it? – HA!)

I don’t color my hair, but I should, it’s just too much work but if I did I would look into Madison-reed root touch up.

I need this so badly! My hair grows so fast and the roots show within a few weeks. This would save me so much time and money!

I didn’t even know they have this root touch up powder! I have to try this! I don’t have time for long salon appointments and the growth of roots really annoy me so this is a godsend! Very cool!

I am often the same way with leaving my roots until I have a serious two-tone situation going. I really enjoyed Madison Reed color when I tried it a while back. I will look for your post on the results!

This sounds like a great product line. I have never dyed my hair before but it is almost time to start, too many grays coming up!

How interesting that it’s a powder. I like the idea of actually being able to do touch-ups at home and actually cover your roots. Nice color options, too.
