Want to be “Still Blonde?” Madison Reed Root Touch Up
When I was young, I was very blonde. Born Blonde. Tow-head Blonde. As I aged, my hair darkened to a dirty dishwater blonde, and I hated it. As a result, in about the eighth grade, I began a life long process of dying, highlighting, frosting, and coloring my hair.

While I have always loved being “Still Blonde”, sometimes root maintenance is tiring. I really should go in for root touch up every six-eight weeks, but truth be told I usually just go in when my roots get uber scary. Like this!
True Confession: I usually don’t make an appointment to get my hair done until the situation is this bad. One big combo of dark roots and gray…ughh! Yet, because of my devil-may-care attitude, I often can’t get into my stylist when I need to (Appointment? What’s THAT?)
Madison Reed Root Touch Up– The Solution?
Recently, Madison Reed contacted me and asked me to write a compensated review about their Root Touch Up powder. I said, “Sure thing!” I am all about trying to find temporary products to cover my roots until I can get into the hair salon. Having tried temporary root sprays, mascaras, and colors, I can tell you I was a tad leery. But I do need a solution when I am in need of a quick hair root touch-up in between coloring appointments…especially if I have a photo shoot I need to get done or an important event to attend!

This is so cool. I would love a root touch up, but I didn’t want to go to the salon just for that. I love this idea.
love this . thanks for the memory lane shelley. looks like sephora has it all when it comes to touch ups thanks for the info
This sounds like an amazing product! I have started to do foils in stead of all over dye but man the roots get very annoying.
This is neat. Helps cut the cost of having to touch up dye jobs all the time. Especially for people who have fast growing hair.
With my kids I really don’t have any time to go to the stylist! Home treatments are really the only way to go for me!
Since I don’t color my hair, I don’t need this.
This sounds like an amazing product! A root touch up without the salon appointment would be great!
Keeping up with blonde hair can be quite the struggle! Root touch up are always nice!
This product sounds so nice. I woulds hate to have to get my hair redone just because the roots are showing.
I Really want to try this. I have used only one other that was good- Hazan’s spray. And as I try to color my hair only once or twice a year (yes, really), and usually at an Aveda salon, as it’s the most “natural” one I know of, I really do have to find a good, easy, and affordable way to cover roots and gray! I try to avoid dying my hair frequently, as as everyone I know who colors their hair a lot has hair loss issues, so when I do have it colored, I try to do highlights and lo-lights, too, so the gray is less noticeable as it comes in…
The link on “Click now” is not working- comes up Page Not Found…
Thanks Elisse. I fixed it! I appreciate your help. The Chief Blonde
I had very blonde hair when I was little, as I grew older, it darkened up some. But I am a true blonde.
My best friend colors her hair and always puts off her touch ups. This would be a perfect product for her. I will have to share this with her.
Having to touch up my roots is why I’ve held off coloring my hair for so long. Glad to hear that Madison Reed makes it so easy to do at home.
I look forward to seeing the results!
I love the red colors and when my roots come in, boy does it look horrible. This is a great idea… I am totally going to check it out
I could use a touch up (Ok I need more than a touch up LOL). I am totally interested in seeing how it comes out!
OMG. The older picture is absolutely adorable.
I definitely hear ya! I started out very blonde, and ended up a dirty blonde lol. In my late teens early 20’s I started the process of coloring my hair, then I went to highlighting, and now I am back to coloring it again to stay blonde 🙂 I have mine done in a salon every 3 months but it gets expensive, so I will have to check out this company because I still want to look good but save money as well.
I’ve recently tried Madison Reed and it works so great! What a great way always look like you have freshly colored hair.
I remember the days when I had red hair. It was a bear to keep up. This would have been very helpful to me back then.
