I know for myself I do miss out on so much, I have seen so many dr’s and they tell me its because of my aczema is why I am not hearing properly. but they never do anything about it.. I just don’t get it, I feel like no matter where I am at , I am the one now sitting in the corner because I can’t even have a normal chat/talk with anyone,, because most of the time I am shouting..

Such an important post! As we get older, the risk of hearing loss increases, especially for those of us who went to loud concerts or blasted a Walkman in our youth. Getting help makes a difference and nobody should suffer in silence.

I would like to get my entire family a free hearing exam. You never know when too much noise could be having a negative effect on your hearing.

My grandma has a Miracle-Ear hearing aid and she loves it. She had a little trouble admitting she needed one and we had to “force” her to go to get her hearing checked.

Love the images you used in this post. It really drives home the discouragement hearing loss can bring. I had a free hearing test and it was so easy. I learned a lot about how we hear and the science behind hearing well. It was a great experience.

yes I do have a slight hearing problem. I actually think its more of a problem with certain tones. Seems like low tones I am helpless as to what is being said. Normal tones are alright. Loud tones hurt my ears! lol~ My Husband would tell you I can’t hear but that’s not true! If He turns around and walks away and says something I can’t make it out! So I have a habit of say what? I am trying to catch myself from saying what? so much!!! But I do notice I do have trouble hearing low tones or lowered voices. I did go for a hearing test about 3 yrs ago and they fitted me with hearing aids that would help me with low tones and background noise. They helped me. I lost 1 and the dog chewed up the other one. $2000. in the Garbage.. I will look up the ones you shared Genius 2.0 and depending on the cost may give them a try! Thank You for Sharing!

Truthfully I have not had a hearing test in my adult years, and I have been an adult for a while now. Eek, I am so going to take advantage of this.

Hearing loss can be scary, but like you said talk with your doctor and find out your options. Hearing loss has affected people in my family, all but 2 got hearing aids. Right now we have insurance that covers hearing test, but ugh next year it won’t.

Yes, my mom has a hard time distinguishing voices from the atmospheric noise in restaurants and public places. She could use one!

I get my hearing tested every few years. I think it’s as important as getting an eye exam.

Hearing aid and cochlear implant technology has come a long ways in the last 20 years. My daughter was born deaf but thanks to cochlear implants, she can hear sounds within the normal range.

    Getting early treatment is important.

My youngest son struggled with hearing as a baby but is now measuring exactly where he should be. Hearing well is so vital and hearing loss is not something that should be taken lightly. This test sounds great for those who need it.
