Thanks again for always being willing and open about these “touchy” “hush-hush” subjects. I wish everyone would realize that there is nothing to be ashamed of about hearing loss. Prejudices of the past and early hearing aids that were bulky, uncomfortable, and didn’t work well have many people afraid to admit their loss. I’m glad you talk about it being ok and there are good helps available.

Exactly Sherry. Things like this are only shameful if they are hidden. Everyone has something. Shelley

My dad has some hearing loss, which he uses as an excuse to not talk on the phone. Considering that he never was much of a conversationalist and hated talking on the phone, in this particular instance I don’t think it bothers him!

I think that my husband is incurring some hearing loss, but he won’t admit it.

I don’t currently suffer from hearing loss but both of my parents do.
I would love to be able to convince them both to have a hearing test and would happily purchase the hearing aids for them but so far they just want allow it.
The face that their hearing is so limited is a scary subject for me as they live in another state and I worry that something could happen without either of them being able to hear the sounds around them.

Most of my elderly relatives benefited from using hearing aids and I would definitely pursue their use in the future if I need them.

My husband swears that he don’t have a hearing problem but I know he does. Maybe one day I can get him to take a hearing test.

Having parents who suffer from hearing loss was quite a struggle. Finally, they got checked and the problem got fixed.

It is also important to point out that even if you aren’t losing your hearing yet to be tested to set a baseline

Despite being 49, I need to have one done. My hubby says I miss conversations but I seem too young to do this!

I have had hearing loss for the past fourteen years, yet my Dr doesn’t seem to think so. Either way, I know what it is like to be left out of conversations because I miss half of what people around me are talking about..

My grandmother suffered with hearing loss in the last few years of her life, even though she had a fancy hearing aid. Such a tough thing to deal with!
