Wear Your Sun Protection Daily
SPF Addict sent us these sun protective gear fashions to review: The Chief Blonde is wearing SPF Addict Donna’s Perfect Dress ($55), St. Francis Couture Belt (), Calvin Klein Heels (). The Chief Blonde’s daughter is wearing SPF Addict California Breeze Jacket ($60), white shirt dress (), Joe’s Jeans Sandals ()
My lovely daughter will soon be heading back to college, where she plans to finish her degree in Graphic Design. I am so proud of her on so many levels: her dedication to her craft, her clear headedness, her great choices in friends, her belief in the Lord.
Also, I am very proud that she has always embraced taking care of her pale skin. Just like me she realizes that no amount of tanning will ever produce any more than a wicked burn. Still as a college student and young girl bombarded by images of lithe tan bodies, she does experience frustration.
People with skin like ours, have few choices when it comes to summer. We can either lather on smelly, sticky sunscreen everyday or stay indoors. Another choice is covering up with sun protective clothing, but face it, most sun protective clothing is UGLY…not fashionable at all. However SPF Addict approached me to review some items from their line and I have to say they are breaking the mold for sun protective gear:
Just look how adorable my daughter looks in the SPF Addict California Breeze Jacket. This lightweight utilitarian jacket is certainly fashion forward, cute enough to pair with summer dresses but with sun coverage enough to wear to the first big football games. I love that it has a UPF 50+ with a vented back panel, high collar with snap buttons for extra sun protection during the day, belted waist. The back open vent allows for breathability.
I am wearing the SPF Addict Donna’s Perfect Dress. I can’t rave about this dress enough. I can see myself wearing this poolside over a bathing suit. As well, I can pair it with heels and hat, and then spend a whole day shopping outside downtown without fear of burning. The bonus is that I don’t have to worry about sticky sunscreens!
The sun doesn’t take a day off and neither should your sun protection
My daughter and I realize that even though we live in Michigan, there is no day off from protecting your skin. That’s why SPF addict is not a seasonal line. Harmful UV rays still exist during the fall and winter months and on cloudy days in the spring and summer. While we will still need to wear sunglasses, hats, and use some sunscreen, we realize that SPF addict can offer us sun protection in our daily wear.

I would love the California Breeze Jacket because it will definitely keep me warm as the weather gets cooler.
I like the Marina Cardigan. I wear things like that throughout the cold seasons.
I would like to get the “Black Mineral” T-shirt
I like Groovy Times – very stylish
I love the swing tee because it has a great ombre look to it!
I love the Neva Caftan in the gray color. It looks so comfy!
Woot! I hope i win!!
I like the California Breeze Jacket. It is light and easy to wear for the fall weather.
I’d get the Ida Bella scarf in tan/black and blue/black. I live scarves and these look so soft and comfortable. I’d also love to get the Cruzin hoodie, it’s stylish and perfect for going into fall. It’s easy to forget that we still need protection after summer.
I would like the Cruzin Hoodie. When the weather gets chilly I live and hoodies. I live in coastal South Carolina and even when it is chilly the sun can be pretty intense.
I am a jeans and t-shirt kind of gal so the classic long sleeve tee in a variety of colors would be perfect for me. I live in Florida so even in the “winter” here we still need sun protection.
I’d like Julie’s Wrap because it looks comfortable, but fashionable.
I like the Fly & Flawless shirt because I like graphic tees.
I like the Quicksand · Charcoal & White t shirt because it looks comfortable!
I’d choose the Julie’s Wrap…gorgeous!
i like the Black Mineral t shirt,,perfect for my girlfriend
I’d get the Cruzin’ Hoodie and the Summer Jewels long sleeve because I need more shirts for layering when it gets cold.
I like cardigans for teaching, and I like the thumbholes in the Marina cardigan. Cute!
Love the Deidre Dolman. First I love black in all shapes and types of clothes. And I appreciate anything that is super-comfortable. The Dolman is both elegant and roomy, so comfortable and flattering!
I really like the Rosie top because I like black 😀 but if it came in another earth color I wouldn’t mind that either.
thanks!
