Wear Your Sun Protection Daily
SPF Addict sent us these sun protective gear fashions to review: The Chief Blonde is wearing SPF Addict Donna’s Perfect Dress ($55), St. Francis Couture Belt (), Calvin Klein Heels (). The Chief Blonde’s daughter is wearing SPF Addict California Breeze Jacket ($60), white shirt dress (), Joe’s Jeans Sandals ()
My lovely daughter will soon be heading back to college, where she plans to finish her degree in Graphic Design. I am so proud of her on so many levels: her dedication to her craft, her clear headedness, her great choices in friends, her belief in the Lord.
Also, I am very proud that she has always embraced taking care of her pale skin. Just like me she realizes that no amount of tanning will ever produce any more than a wicked burn. Still as a college student and young girl bombarded by images of lithe tan bodies, she does experience frustration.
People with skin like ours, have few choices when it comes to summer. We can either lather on smelly, sticky sunscreen everyday or stay indoors. Another choice is covering up with sun protective clothing, but face it, most sun protective clothing is UGLY…not fashionable at all. However SPF Addict approached me to review some items from their line and I have to say they are breaking the mold for sun protective gear:
Just look how adorable my daughter looks in the SPF Addict California Breeze Jacket. This lightweight utilitarian jacket is certainly fashion forward, cute enough to pair with summer dresses but with sun coverage enough to wear to the first big football games. I love that it has a UPF 50+ with a vented back panel, high collar with snap buttons for extra sun protection during the day, belted waist. The back open vent allows for breathability.
I am wearing the SPF Addict Donna’s Perfect Dress. I can’t rave about this dress enough. I can see myself wearing this poolside over a bathing suit. As well, I can pair it with heels and hat, and then spend a whole day shopping outside downtown without fear of burning. The bonus is that I don’t have to worry about sticky sunscreens!
The sun doesn’t take a day off and neither should your sun protection
My daughter and I realize that even though we live in Michigan, there is no day off from protecting your skin. That’s why SPF addict is not a seasonal line. Harmful UV rays still exist during the fall and winter months and on cloudy days in the spring and summer. While we will still need to wear sunglasses, hats, and use some sunscreen, we realize that SPF addict can offer us sun protection in our daily wear.

I’d love to have the Rock Your Soul t-shirt because it’s so cute and I love wearing T-shirts.
I am lovin’ their Swing Tee top because I like the colors (ombre) and how it’s shaped.
I like the top called groovy times.
I love the French Terry Jewels. I like the style of the different color long sleeve shirt.
i like the rosie top – simple, classic, looks comfy
I LOVE the light Cali Breeze jacket. When I’m in Florida I spend a good deal of time on a boat and fishing, and it would be perfect sun protection AND keep the wind out.
I also like the swing tee… perfect for tossing on over a swimsuit or wearing around on a hot day.
I like the California Breeze Jacket.its nice
The ‘Summer Jewels’ top would be my pick- it’s lightweight, with thumb-holes, white in color (always my preference owing to its quality of being paired with anything). It’s fashionable without compromising on function!
If I had this credit I honestly would let my wife pick; she has great taste.
I like Donna’s Perfect dress. It looks like something I’d wear to the beach, where having the SPF would be useful.
Julie’s Wrap would be the perfect accessory to many work looks. I got promoted a few months ago and had to get a whole new work wardrobe-trying to cover up my post baby belly.. This wrap would help me feel and look amazing.
I love the swing top, it’s ombre dyed which is my favor
I like the French Terry Jewels. This is the kind of clothes that I wear most of the time.
I love the Marina Cardigan. I like the flowy look of the cardigan. I also really like the Whitney Sleeved Wrap.
I love the California Dreamin’ poncho. The light green/green combo is so pretty
I want the Cruzin Hoodie. It’s kind of laid back but still stylish.
I love the Groovy Times top because it looks like it has a very flattering fit.
I like the Rosie top because I can wear it with jeans.
i like the Summer Jewels since it is my stlye and will match anything.
I like the Swing Tee because I like the look, color and I like shirts that have a flow to them.
