Back to College with SPF Addict Sun Protective Clothing

SPF Addict Sun Protective Gear Fashion Over 45

SPF Addict sent us these sun protective gear fashions to review: The Chief Blonde is wearing SPF Addict Donna’s Perfect Dress ($55), St. Francis Couture Belt (), Calvin Klein Heels (). The Chief Blonde’s daughter is wearing SPF Addict California Breeze Jacket ($60), white shirt dress (), Joe’s Jeans Sandals ()

My lovely daughter will soon be heading back to college, where she plans to finish her degree in Graphic Design. I am so proud of her on so many levels: her dedication to her craft, her clear headedness, her great choices in friends, her belief in the Lord.

Also, I am very proud that she has always embraced taking care of her pale skin. Just like me she realizes that no amount of tanning will ever produce any more than a wicked burn. Still as a college student and young girl bombarded by images of lithe tan bodies, she does experience frustration.

Pale is the New Tan Melanoma Awareness

People with skin like ours, have few choices when it comes to summer. We can either lather on smelly, sticky sunscreen everyday or stay indoors. Another choice is covering up with sun protective clothing, but face it, most sun protective clothing is UGLY…not fashionable at all. However SPF Addict approached me to review some items from their line and I have to say they are breaking the mold for sun protective gear:

Just look how adorable my daughter looks in the SPF Addict California Breeze Jacket. This lightweight utilitarian jacket is certainly fashion forward, cute enough to pair with summer dresses but with sun coverage enough to wear to the first big football games. I love that it has a UPF 50+ with a vented back panel, high collar with snap buttons for extra sun protection during the day, belted waist. The back open vent allows for breathability.

I am wearing the SPF Addict Donna’s Perfect Dress. I can’t rave about this dress enough. I can see myself wearing this poolside over a bathing suit. As well, I can pair it with heels and hat, and then spend a whole day shopping outside downtown without fear of burning. The bonus is that I don’t have to worry about sticky sunscreens!

The sun doesn’t take a day off and neither should your sun protection

My daughter and I realize that even though we live in Michigan, there is no day off from protecting your skin. That’s why SPF addict is not a seasonal line. Harmful UV rays still exist during the fall and winter months and on cloudy days in the spring and summer. While we will still need to wear sunglasses, hats, and use some sunscreen, we realize that SPF addict can offer us sun protection in our daily wear.

My teen is a red head and has had maybe one sunburn and it was minor. She is always in sunscreen. She doesn’t like SPF clothing as it isn’t stylish. But I love the clothes you have and I’ll show them to her with my fingers crossed!

My mother has to stay out of the sun due to skin cancer as much as possible. These clothes would help her feel like she would be more protected if she needed to be out.

California Breeze Jacket because we have strong sun even in cooler weather and you still need protection then, too.

I like the Fashion Hands since they leave your fingers free to grip the steering wheel when driving a vehicle.
