Party Beans are a super simple bean and meat recipe that everyone will love. No leftovers on this one. These freeze beautifully! Double the batch (that's a lot of beans) for a big party!
Author: Shelley Zurek
Serves: 10
Ingredients
  • 1 pound of browned and drained ground beef
  • 1 pound bacon, cooked, drained and crumbled
  • 22oz of your favorite baked beans
  • 14oz butter neans
  • 14 oz of kidney beans
  • 1 tablespoon yellow or dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • ¼ brown sugar
  • 1 cup of ketchup
  • Onions (optional)
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients in a baking pan (13x9 cake pan or preferably an aluminum pan that you can throw out and recycle afterwards as these beans STICK)
  2. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour uncovered.
  3. Stir every 15 minutes.
  4. Make a double batch for a big party and serve in a steamer tray to keep warm.
  5. Leftovers freeze nicely.

still blondeThe Chief Blonde Remarks:  You need bacon for my party bean recipe, so here’s the best book I have ever found on bacon. It has all the best tips for “making bacon” right.   Here is an excerpt from my original review:

Now I know you have an idea of the delectable recipes in this 271 page full color book. You will love the heavyweight coated stock used to make the book and the oversized format. Every recipe has tips and tricks that help you understand the nuances behind each recipe. There are photos galore, which is a must for me when using a cookbook. And well…MMMMM BACON!

Coming up to summertime and parties. This would be great to have for those.
Thanks for the hint about what to make them in.
(onions are not optional for my beans…)

What a great uptake on baked beans! This will make a nice addition to our summer BBQs when paired with angel hair coleslaw & BBQ chicken. Thanks for the recipe!!

This looks so great! So, you make it with canned beans? I’m wondering if I could get away with pressure cooking dry beans and then baking them with the ingredients.

Made this for the Super Bowl party and it was a big hit! Barely any leftovers (from a double batch), but fortunately I do get to enjoy a little bit today in some peace and quiet (not complaining — I probably yelled as much as anyone else). Thanks for the great recipe (one of two of yours that I made yesterday).

Why do I always read your recipe posts before dinner (and when I don’t even have an ETA for my sweetie so I don’t want to eat much and ruin my appetite!)? In any event, this looks like another winner!

My husband is the one who always brings the beans to any bbq’s or family gatherings that we attend because no one has been able to find a recipe that beats his, I think I may just have one.
