Coming up to summertime and parties. This would be great to have for those.
Thanks for the hint about what to make them in.
(onions are not optional for my beans…)
What a great uptake on baked beans! This will make a nice addition to our summer BBQs when paired with angel hair coleslaw & BBQ chicken. Thanks for the recipe!!
These are not just party beans . This recipe is a complete casserole with all that beef and bacon in it.
Let me know if you try it Jo-Ann. It’s simply to die for…
This looks like my recipe for Calico beans but I make mine in a crockpot! So good!
This looks so great! So, you make it with canned beans? I’m wondering if I could get away with pressure cooking dry beans and then baking them with the ingredients.
Not sure Margot, let me know if you try it. The Chief BLonde

Made this for the Super Bowl party and it was a big hit! Barely any leftovers (from a double batch), but fortunately I do get to enjoy a little bit today in some peace and quiet (not complaining — I probably yelled as much as anyone else). Thanks for the great recipe (one of two of yours that I made yesterday).

I’ve always wanted to make my own baked beans, so I’ll have to remember this in the summer.
Wow, I have to say I’m really amazed at just how good this is. It makes you want to declare a picnic asap and invite the neighborhood! I’d love to try this for a family get together at the lake!
Rosie…TRY IT! You will be amazed!
Why do I always read your recipe posts before dinner (and when I don’t even have an ETA for my sweetie so I don’t want to eat much and ruin my appetite!)? In any event, this looks like another winner!
This is what I am taking for my next potluck!

My husband is the one who always brings the beans to any bbq’s or family gatherings that we attend because no one has been able to find a recipe that beats his, I think I may just have one.
