On The Record with Mick Rock

Mick Rock premieres with an original spin on the musician profile series

Oh! We are all in for musical treat! Mick Rock is as famous for capturing iconic images of ’70s rock stars as he is today, photographing the up-and-coming of the music industry. He now takes his insights to a new level, hosting a MUST SEE series that takes a new twist on musician interviews. Premiering 8/2 at 8:00PM ET on Ovation TV, I will be glued to my set for his can’t-miss interview with Josh Groban. Special Bonus: We get to hear Josh sing as well!

On The Record with Mick Rock Josh Groban the Man who Shot the 70sThe premise of the series, On the Record with Mick Rock, is Mick traveling with the musician back to where it all began…their hometown. During the premiere episode, native Angeleno and multi-platinum recording artist Josh Groban takes Mick on an inspiring tour of Los Angeles, relating stories about a high school teacher who mentored him in his success, giving us a glimpse of the after-school Shakespeare program he personally supports and treating Mick (and all of us as well SQUEEEE!) to a moving performance of his song, Hidden Away. Premieres 8/2 8:00pm EST!

Mick Rock: The Man who Shot the Seventies (Greatest Beatle?)

(Video was removed due to copyright issues but Mick Rock indicated in his opinion, John Lennon was the greatest Beatle)

What gives Mick Rock the chops to shoot rock and roll superstars of the ’70s and interview musical performers of today? Mick Rock is a British photographer best known for capturing iconic images of rock and roll legends. From Queen and David Bowie to the Sex Pistols and Blondie, Rock is often referred to as “The Man Who Shot the Seventies.” Today, Mick is as in-demand as ever; photographing legends-in-the-making like Snoop Dog, Daft Punk, The Killers, Cee Lo Green, and the Black Keys, among many others.

On Sunday, August 16, catch masters of psychedelic rock Flaming Lips. Sunday, August 23, GRAMMY(R) Hall of Fame artist Patti LaBelle (and vivacious Woman over 45) takes Mick on a personal tour of Philadelphia. All shows are at 8 pm ET.

Being that I grew up in NJ, I have to go with Bruce Springsteen. Love his music, though I never seen him in concert.

It’s hard to pick one musician today as the greatest, but I do love Taylor Swift for her kindness.

I’ve only been to two concerts, unless you count the folk ones in small venues like churches. The Cars and Meatloaf. Meatloaf was a fantastic show.
