On the Record with Mick Rock
coming to Ovation TV 8/2 at 8PM ET
Mick Rock premieres with an original spin on the musician profile series
Oh! We are all in for musical treat! Mick Rock is as famous for capturing iconic images of ’70s rock stars as he is today, photographing the up-and-coming of the music industry. He now takes his insights to a new level, hosting a MUST SEE series that takes a new twist on musician interviews. Premiering 8/2 at 8:00PM ET on Ovation TV, I will be glued to my set for his can’t-miss interview with Josh Groban. Special Bonus: We get to hear Josh sing as well!
The premise of the series, On the Record with Mick Rock, is Mick traveling with the musician back to where it all began…their hometown. During the premiere episode, native Angeleno and multi-platinum recording artist Josh Groban takes Mick on an inspiring tour of Los Angeles, relating stories about a high school teacher who mentored him in his success, giving us a glimpse of the after-school Shakespeare program he personally supports and treating Mick (and all of us as well SQUEEEE!) to a moving performance of his song, Hidden Away. Premieres 8/2 8:00pm EST!
Mick Rock: The Man who Shot the Seventies (Greatest Beatle?)
(Video was removed due to copyright issues but Mick Rock indicated in his opinion, John Lennon was the greatest Beatle)
What gives Mick Rock the chops to shoot rock and roll superstars of the ’70s and interview musical performers of today? Mick Rock is a British photographer best known for capturing iconic images of rock and roll legends. From Queen and David Bowie to the Sex Pistols and Blondie, Rock is often referred to as “The Man Who Shot the Seventies.” Today, Mick is as in-demand as ever; photographing legends-in-the-making like Snoop Dog, Daft Punk, The Killers, Cee Lo Green, and the Black Keys, among many others.

1-Ringo
2. Pink Floyd Pig Tour
3. JLo
4. JLo
Best musician today… I’m not sure that I love anyone. I’d probably say Adele, only because her vocals are astounding!
The only concert Ive been to was the Beach Boys in 2004 – My friend and I got pulled onto the stage and got to sing “Barbara Anne” with them! Don’t think I’ll be able to top that concert experience! 🙂
Best Beatle? John Lennon, no reason necessary. 🙂
Hard question, since I’ve had a crush on Paul, since I was 4 years old-but I think John was the greatest and love his song writing
The best concert experience I’ve seen was Dave Matthews Band @ Deer Creek in Indiana this past month – I had PIT tickets but the PIT was too full so they moved us to the front of the stage!!
4 – For this one, the best performance I’ve ever seen was my daughter in a little musical play 🙂 She was just so super cute and remembered her lines and did an awesome job. Nothing beats that moment 🙂
3 – Tori Amos – I’ve been a fan for a long time. She is a great musician, and a kind woman. She runs a charity to help women and girls who have been raped and assaulted. She has always stayed true to herself and her music and does what she wants 🙂
2 – Tori Amos when she toured with Alanis Morissette – I was a huge fan of Tori and also a fan of Alanis…. It was a good time in my life and I was with good people and both women sang my favorite songs 🙂
1: John Lennon – He was artistic and cool, wrote great songs and, sadly, he died young and tragically so his image remains more pristine.
For me, the Beatles are the best. I also love Celine Dion as an artist. I have not seen any major concert but if given I chance I’d love to see CD in a concert.
2) Emerson Lake and Palmer. It was my 1st concert. It was the year they toured with a complete orchestra. I was with my 1st boyfriend. Magical.
The best performance that I ever say was the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. The beauty in the music was like you went somewhere else.
I would have to say Jamie Cullum for my best musician! He is amazing!
The greatest concert that I have even seen is Jamie Cullum! He was phenomenal!
I would have to say Paul McCartney. I like his voice and the way that her sings!
The best show I ever saw was Dio. This was a LONG time ago, obviously! 🙂
I’ve only ever seen pop acts in concert so I’d have to say Backstreet Boys. HAH. They were, and always will be my fave. I’ve never been a rock fan, always pop!
My favorite Beatle was Paul McCartney..He had quite a few good songs on his own too 🙂
