Michelle Obama State of the Union Dress 2015

January 20, 2015 By Shelley Zurek 38 Comments

Michelle Obama wears Michael Kors to 2015 State of the Union Address

In a tweet, from the First Lady of the US,  @FLOTUS , about the upcoming State of the Union address Jan. 20, 2015, 9:00PM est., Michelle Obama communicated this information

The First Lady, @DrBiden, and their guests are ready for the #SOTU. Tune in at 9pm ET: http://t.co/VxAklBFs1z pic.twitter.com/Bnn8DsZJzG

The First Lady (@FLOTUS) January 21, 2015

Mrs. Obama also revealed her State of the Union dress and that of Dr. Jill Biden, wife of the Vice-President. Michelle Obama Jill Biden State of the Union 2015  First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden posed for a selfie taken by the Twitter Mirror which includes the hashtag #SOTU . Up until now the Twitter Mirror has been more commonly used at award shows like The Oscars and The Grammys.

On Tuesday night, at the State of the Union Address, Michelle Obama, First Lady of the US,  stepped out in a Michael Kors skirt suit. The tweed design consisted of a wide collar and zipper detailing in gray. The Michael Kors top, called Origami Collar Tweed Jacket, was available at Nordstroms (sold out. $797).  Here’s the original version glad to see that Michelle did not wear this rendition as I think the thigh high zipper may have been a tad too much!

You might also recognize the suit if you’re a “Good Wife” fan. This Michael Kors dress was first seen on Julianna Margulies in the role of Alicia Florrick, the wife of a disgraced politician on The Good Wife. MSNBC Andrea Mitchell (@AndreaMitchell) sent out this tweet comparing the two dresses and attached this picture:

Tell me, did you like the dress?

This post is not a political statement. The Chief Blonde wished to feature the fashion of our First lady, Michelle Obama and the Vice President’s wife, Dr. Jill Biden.

I think the suit looks very lovely. She wore it well I think Although it looks a bit scratchy to me, but I’m all about soft fabrics myself. 🙂

I actually saw this on one of those celebrity shows today and I didn’t get the best look at it so I’m glad you blogged about the outfit so I could see it in its entirety! I do quite love it 🙂

Michelle Obama looked beautiful, but who is the designer of Jill Biden’s green State of the Union dress? She looked adorable!

Not to get into politics, I won’t mention the person wearing the dress. But the suit itself is very nice.

I like the version she wore far better than that original one – OY! That skirt zipper is one zipper too many in my opinion. I think Mrs. Obama has a great sense of style

I thought this dress was a throwback to Jackie Kennedy’s style, which is never a bad thing. I loved it. She looked classy and sophisticated, while being understated (I mean that in a positive way). I think she is among a select group of First Ladies when it comes to high fashion in the White House.
