As a professional dancer myself, there is nothing that rings truer to a dancer than staying true to your passion and moving & expressing that which stems from your soul. We must allow our bodies to speak for us through movement.
I don’t have a favorite ballet dancer but I have to say that the Nutcracker is one of my favorite musicals around Christmas time. It’s such a lovely, peaceful show to watch and gets me in the mood during the holiday season.
I wish I had one, but I have no clue. I like the one who has been in the Nutcracker at our local theater for the past two years.
I’m about to crucify the spelling of his name, I’m sure. But I’ve always liked Mikhail Baryshnikov. Oh, and Gregory Hines too!

My youngest daughter was an amazing ballerina. I only wish she had stayed in dance. She was such an inspiration when she danced. As for favorite professional ballerina, one of the most memorable performances I have ever seen was Meridith Benson dancing in Giselle in Chicago. My youngest daughter was still very young then, but she was moved to tears by the performance and I think that was a turning point for her with dance.
What a Lovely story Linda! Thanks for sharing that. The Chief Blonde
