Lands’ End together with 21 real women from Curvy Girl Guide (www.curvygirlguide.com), will launch the first National Swimsuit Confidence Week May 23 – 27, 2011.  As a chosen blogger, Still Blonde after all these YEARS , is  celebrating women of all shapes and sizes and Women over 45, specifically!  I hope to inspire them to have fun this summer by taking part in National Swimsuit Confidence Week.

I, along with 49 other bloggers are posting our pictures on our blogs, in swimsuits modeled by Land’s End!  I know, I know…Pretty scary right?  You can’t imagine how I have fretted over this one!

So..here goes….

I have always admired starlets of yesteryear.  I find them so much more womanly than many of the super-slim stars of today.  So I looked to them for my swimsuit inspirations.

I can’t say this was easy–I mean, I have little to no pictures of me in a bathing suit for the first 49 years of my life and now here I am posting a picture on my blog for the whole world to see!  My husband swears my hits will go up…this is the same sweet man who says if he and I participated in the Bachelor Reality Series that he would just hand me ALL the roses right off the bat…I love that man!

The weeklong movement was created to celebrate women of all shapes and sizes as well as educate and inspire them to embrace their swimsuit beauty and have fun this summer. Each day Lands’ End will giveaway 10 Lands’ End Swimsuits, 10 Lands’ End Beach Towels and announce exclusive swimsuit promotions!

    Oh my goodness! You look fantastic in that red bathing suit. You probably would’ve made it on the side of a Bomber if you were vintage.

    You look FANTASTIC! And you know what I love about this campaign? It led me to this site, written for women over the age of 45, like me.

    Now if I can just work up my own swimsuit confidence. You know, without an entire bottle of tequila.

    Love it! You look marvelous & I love the sytle swimsuit you choose! If I can loose more weight I would love to shop for one like that. A pair of short & a home made top that looks like a skirt but I wear over my tata’s & falls below my hinny like a mini dress..is all I have worn for years.
    I love this retro look. It’s so cute & girly!

    You look great and what a set of gams!!

    I must say I was saddened to read a lot of the comments on here from women who said they wouldn’t wear a swimsuit for one reason or another. Swimming is one of my very favorite things and there is no way I would give it up because of the way I looked in a swimsuit. I am a big fatty and while I wish I weren’t, denying myself one of life’s pleasures because I might look ‘gross’ at the pool isn’t going to change that. I used to be very thin and fit and when I started to gain weight I was a bit embarrassed about going to the beach, until I actually went and noticed young and old, fat and thin, all having fun and not paying any attention to me. I wish these women would be kinder to themselves.

    No, we have no pictures of me in my ‘swimsuit’ because I dont have one! We go to Galveston, and I wear shorts and a t-shirt. We have a pool, but I dont get in it. LOL.
