Motherly Fashion Advice
Fashion Advice for Women over 45
The Chief Blonde and her Mom
I wouldn’t say I got all my fashion sense from my mom but there was a lot of great fashion tips she gave me that stuck with me through the years. Without further ado, here’s the Chief Blonde’s Mom’s Fashion Advice and I am pretty sure that your mom’s advice is similar!
Five Fashion tips from YOUR MOM
1. It never hurts to dress like your mom sometimes. (See picture above…this was a total accident…we showed up a restaurant in virtually the same outfit)
2. Wear a hat. Hats are very useful you see. They keep your ears warm and keep your skin from getting burned.
3. Take a jacket. You can always take a jacket off but if you are freezing and you didn’t bring one then you have a bigger problem.
4. Wear Comfortable Shoes. HAHAHAHAHA. You KNOW I ignored this one. See picture below!
Mother’s Day 2011. Chief Blonde’s mom in pink and tennis shoes, Chief Blonde in high Heels!
5. Wear Clean Clothes. This seems like pretty obvious fashion advice but I can’t tell you the number of times I have went and changed my clothes because I could hear my mother’s voice ringing in my ears.

think twice before you open your mouth to talk
Don’t drink beer from the bottle while in a cocktail dress
Great advice. HAHAHA
You can to do & be whatever you put your mind too!! Always!!
Besides the advice of ‘keep your shoulder’s back’ the only advice I can remember her telling me is to not start screaming in labor or you’d never be able to stop and you’ll just scare all the other women there. I heeded her advice and it seemed to work out for me and everyone else even when I gave birth to a 9 lbs 10 oz baby boy in the back of an ambulance in front of K-mart plaza.
Oh wow Grace! You have to blog about that one. I hope you remind your son daily about what a saint you are!! SHelley
It’s not fashion advice, but one of the things mom said that I think about often is, “If you don’t have expectations of other people, you won’t be disappointed when they don’t live up to them”. I don’t know if I believe it, but I definitely think about it often, and it’s changed how I perceive things.
I never win anything but I still try 🙂
To do everything with love and with God in my hearth always
Love the Lord with all your heart.
My mom always told me to choose the right and to remember who you are. It really helped me make it through those teen years.
Trust in God 🙂
GO with your first instinct for sure. Don’t second guess yourself. Usually right.
To like myself first and others will follow!
The best advice I received from mom was her favorite bible verse “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
My grandmother’s best advice was “ahh the devil with the clothes” (it was given when we were all going out as a family and just to have fun – she knew what was important)
Those are all wonderful advice! I think one should have a good personality to make any outfits to look even better!
Wear a belt. It really completes a look. Now anytime I see someone without a belt they look unfinished to me.
my mom always told me to be independent and not rely too much on anybody
Best advice I got is: Trust your gut- your first instict is always right.
My mom’s best advice was to eat whatever I want. There’s no need to pick a salad on a date just because it’s expected of women. It’s better to be yourself, including eating what you want.
My mother told me I could do whatever I put my mind to. Thanks for this giveaway.
