Fall Sandals? Why Not?

What exactly is a Fall Sandal?
It’s a sandal that you wear in the Fall…duh! But more specifically, it’s a sandal that fits the traditional definition of a sandal (open toe, strapy) but adds a fall twist with darker or deeper colors, heavy suedes and thicker leathers, and sometimes a wider chunkier look. Fall sandals steer away from the light airy look of summer sandals and instead seem to say “I’m warm and sturdy but still embracing all the sunshine”.
I am crazy about the Bar III fall sandals above from Macy’s exclusive line. They define the fall sandal look. Also these Bar III fall sandals nail the trend as well:
($89)
I find the wedge on the above fall sandal very ’70s and bohemian, which is quite in at the moment.
($129)
This fringe sandal trend seemed to gain steam last fall but I saw some fashion bloggers wearing these sandals in the summer. To be honest, it made me cringe. While I find this the perfect fall sandal, for summer it seems like overkill. What do you think?

I’ll be honest with you, I never cared for the Birkenstock/Earth Shoe look the first time around and I still don’t like it. I find the silhouette just plain ugly and unflattering on almost everyone. However, this shoe is transitioning to fall on the feet of many young/hipster/hippy women and men so it’s appeal can’t be denied.
Another flat fall sandal that I do like is this cute thong from Lucky Brand:

Most of them are too high for me…I can’t wear wedges or heels, because I’m not ladylike at all…as a matter of fact, fall is all about boots for me!
I really like the first pair in black.
I love the look of the Bar III sandals, but would only have a very short window to wear them here.
I like sandals. I’m warm natured enough to wear them in the fall, too. I like that you mentioned flats, wedges, and heels. Good to have choices and great darker colors.
I love the idea of fall sandals, because I LOVE sandals! I wear sandals as long as I can, until it drops in the 30s! 😀
I really like the top 2 and the ones all the way on the bottom! it has been like 70 degrees in November, here in Massachusetts! so why not be wearing sandals, right!? especially cute ones like these!
Very stylish, but I think the only one I would actually wear is the Madden Girl flat. I’m afraid I would just topple over in those tall ones!
I love the blue siren platforms! Unfortunately, if i wore them I would fall flat on my face! :/
I really like the tan Bar iii Macys Nerisa Block Heel Platform Dress Fall Sandals. It is either casual or dressy.
wow! talk about sexy sandals and shoes, I can see me wearing a couple of these 🙂 and loving all the colors they come in .
For me, sandals are for the summertime and will never have high heels (or fringe).
I love all of the sandals. I can’t wait till some company comes out with Winter Sandals. The flat sandal in blue is awesome!
I love the fringe detail on the sandals.
I wear sandals until the snow flies. I even wear socks with them until it’s too cold (I know what you’re thinking). Strangely enough, I’m not fond of the idea of “fall” sandals.
I love sandals. I can’t wear the really high heels but I love the look of them on others. Very pretty. Thanks for the review.
I love the Madden Girl sandals.
These fall sandals are so chic and would love to have a few pairs.
Adorable . Love fall

i’ve never owned a fall sandal but i like the Bar iii Macys Nerisa Block Heel Platform Dress Fall Sandals you showed
