Fall Sandals? Why Not?
This is a Fashionista Events opportunity
Bar iii Macys Nerisa Block Heel Platform Dress Fall Sandals ($109)
What exactly is a Fall Sandal?
It’s a sandal that you wear in the Fall…duh! But more specifically, it’s a sandal that fits the traditional definition of a sandal (open toe, strapy) but adds a fall twist with darker or deeper colors, heavy suedes and thicker leathers, and sometimes a wider chunkier look. Fall sandals steer away from the light airy look of summer sandals and instead seem to say “I’m warm and sturdy but still embracing all the sunshine”.
I am crazy about the Bar III fall sandals above from Macy’s exclusive line. They define the fall sandal look. Also these Bar III fall sandals nail the trend as well:
Macys Bar III Siren Platform Wedge Fall Sandals ($89)
I find the wedge on the above fall sandal very ’70s and bohemian, which is quite in at the moment.
Steve Madden Women’s Fringly Macys Fall Sandal ($129)
This fringe sandal trend seemed to gain steam last fall but I saw some fashion bloggers wearing these sandals in the summer. To be honest, it made me cringe. While I find this the perfect fall sandal, for summer it seems like overkill. What do you think?
Fall Sandal Flats
Madden Girl Booming Whipstich T-Strap Footbed Fall Sandals Macys ($49, Sale $34)
I’ll be honest with you, I never cared for the Birkenstock/Earth Shoe look the first time around and I still don’t like it. I find the silhouette just plain ugly and unflattering on almost everyone. However, this shoe is transitioning to fall on the feet of many young/hipster/hippy women and men so it’s appeal can’t be denied.
Another flat fall sandal that I do like is this cute thong from Lucky Brand:

Fall sandals…great idea I think. I like sandals and my feet get warm so this is great for me. While I can’t wear that high of a heel, I like the idea of the warmer colors and leather for a more “fall” look.
I love sandals for that transitional period between summer and fall.
I love all these sandals, but since I broke my tibia/fibula in 7 places and then fell and broke my hip and had to have surgery and then a hip replacement, I will probably never be able to wear heels again. It’s a good thing the flat sandals are cute too.
I am sorry Deborah for all the pain you went through. It’s great you found alternatives. Shelley
I love the heels on the top row! Those are gorgeous!

Such cute sandals! I’d like to have one of each of them!
I dig a fall sandal . Minnetonka have great sandals . For me, I do like like birks, I have to say a patent leather strap sandal is very fashionable and comfy running errands here in the south
I love shoes, just can’t wear heels they alway hurt my feet and I have a bad back.
I love shoes but can’t do heels.
None of these are really my style. Pretty though.
No heels!!! I like my Crocs. Or some flats.
In GA where is is hot and we wear shorts into November, you’d look pretty dumb wearing your Uggs!
