The Big Book of Bacon, 100 Best Bacon Recipes

November 12, 2014 By Shelley Zurek 143 Comments

MMMM Bacon!  The Big Book of Bacon
The Big Book of Bacon

THE BIG BOOK OF BACON: Savory Flirtations, Dalliances, and Indulgences with the Underbelly of the Pig, by Jennifer Pearsall; November 4, 2014, 2014; $19.95; ISBN: 9781629145556

WHAT? 100 Best Bacon Recipes

I received written by Jennifer L. S. Pearsall to review and enjoy. Can I just say, this is something a bacon lover cannot put down. LIKE EVER!  I mean just look at the recipes

Satisfy your craving for this “candy meat” with dishes that spotlight bacon (like our Mushroom Swiss Burger), and others that use it as subtle, rich flavor enhancer (like the tart Cherry Tomato Pasta made with nutty zucchini and creamy Provolone sauce). You’ll learn how to cook a slice properly, how to navigate brand thickness and choice, and even how to make a Bacon Bowl! YES, I you read that right!  A BACON BOWL!  Here’s another recipe from the book that I am dying to make:

Alright, now I know you have an idea of the delectable recipes in this 271 page full color book.  You will love the heavyweight coated stock used to make the book and the oversized format. Every recipe has tips and tricks that help you understand the nuances behind each recipe.  There are photos galore, which is a must for me when using a cookbook.  And well…MMMMM BACON!

I like that there’s simple recipes as well as complex. I am very curious about bacon in desserts. Dunno if I would love it, but it’s bacon, so I am willing to try. 🙂

Seriously, if the title “The Big Book of Bacon” doesn’t make you want to open this book, how about the subtitle? Savory flirtations? Uhm…yes please.

I like where it said THERE IS NOTHING THAT BACON DOES NOT GO WITH. I am not a bacon fan myself but many of my friends are…this book would be a great holiday gift!

I like that this book goes beyond basic recipes that include bacon, providing recipes for even desserts that feature bacon. My husband loves bacon, so this book is definitely for him.

I absolutely love bacon. So just the Picture of the nicely browned Bacon appeals to me. What turns me off is the statement “under belly of the pig” I know its from a pig, but I put that out of my mind. This stamen just kind of makes me sick!! Lol! Have a Great Day!!

I like that this book teaches you how to add bacon in ways you might not be used to, like in desserts.

This is what appeals to me. Bacon has long been one of the most popular and prominent components of American table fare. “Bacon and eggs” just rolls off your tongue long before the waitress at your local diner can get your cup of coffee set before you

“The Big Book of Bacon” as the write up implied, will get that umami sense going with every portion of a meal. Everyone is so wrapped up with bacon these days. Great gift idea.

Gotta love the enticements in the title for one, Savory Flirtations, Dalliances, and Indulgences. The price is fair. I can squarely claim that Bacon is my favorite food.

I like the post here, I wish there was more info in Amazon about it. I could do without the words, under belly of a pig in that ad. I would like to try the recipes.

What a great gift idea. I know a few on my giftlist are bacon lovers. It wasn’t so long ago that bacon became one of those breakfast foods that we were to cut back on. Bacon is holding its own andtrending

I love that it features a little bit of humor and a little bit of seriousness! We all have a love for bacon, and it is only becoming more popular, now we see it popping up everywhere, from lipgloss to donuts!
