The Age of Adaline Hairstyles

April 23, 2015 By Shelley Zurek 57 Comments

8 Decades of Hairstyles, The Age of Adaline

For this The Age of Adaline Hairstyles post, I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Lionsgate. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation. #Adaline, #IC

age of Adeline Hairstyles

On April 23rd (tonight!), The Age of Adaline opens! This is a film for all ages opens that will capture your romantic spirit and have your head spinning from the gorgeous hairstyles, fashion and settings. I simply cannot wait to see it! The Age of Adaline Hairstyles alone will be worth the price of admission.

My plans are to see this movie with my daughter as she loves fashion and romances as much as I do. I think Women over 45, their mothers and their daughters will love this film. Given that it’s a love story with an unusual twist, it’s going to be a great date night film as well.

The film centers around Adaline Bowman (Blake Lively), who through a magical moment during a freak accident becomes a woman who will never age another day. Adaline had to keep her life a secret and has never been able to settle down with someone to love, living life on the run.

Take a look at the trailer from The Age of Adaline for a taste of the movie which captures the visually stunning aspects of the film plus beautiful settings and trappings through the decades.

The main cast for the film includes Blake Lively, Michiel Huisman, Kathy Baker, Amanda Crew, with Harrison Ford, and Ellen Burstyn. A cast like that will make you want to run out and see this film NOW! I personally am a huge Harrison Ford fan and would go watch him in any movie, so extra bonus!

Blake Lively was certainly a great choice to play the lead role in this film as she is a fashion maven in her own right and can carry off the hairstyles and clothing of all 8 decades highlighted in this film. You can even sneak peek her glorious closet in this movie clip which highlights the century of fashion that The Age of Adaline spans.

Age of Adeline Blake Lively

Even more inspiring, in my opinion, is the “can’t miss”  tumblr created for the film.  It weaves movie stills from The Age of Adaline with historical moments from each decade coupled with fashion and settings that will transport you back to the decade you are viewing.

Which decade are you most interested to see Adaline live through?

The hairstyles that people wore years are making a come back. The colors that people put in their hair has really changed.

I’ll admit– I only skimmed through this, as I have yet to see the movie and don’t want to learn any more about it… A few days ago, I inadvertently read a brief spoiler that I think gave away much of the movie.
But, I think that she looks BEAUTIFUL in every photograph. I’d be most interested to see Adeline in… the 70s, if I must choose only one. 🙂
Can’t wait to see this film!

I have not seen The Age of Adeline, but I would be most interested in seeing her hairstyle in the present. The movie does sound interesting, I think I’ll see if I can find it. Thank you for sharing this post.

I like your creative take and how much detail you see in a movie’s hair and style. Styles definitely change and it will be fun to see how they portray that.
