8 Decades of Hairstyles, The Age of Adaline
For this The Age of Adaline Hairstyles post, I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Lionsgate. I received a promotional item to thank me for my participation. #Adaline, #IC
On April 23rd (tonight!), The Age of Adaline opens! This is a film for all ages opens that will capture your romantic spirit and have your head spinning from the gorgeous hairstyles, fashion and settings. I simply cannot wait to see it! The Age of Adaline Hairstyles alone will be worth the price of admission.
My plans are to see this movie with my daughter as she loves fashion and romances as much as I do. I think Women over 45, their mothers and their daughters will love this film. Given that it’s a love story with an unusual twist, it’s going to be a great date night film as well.
The film centers around Adaline Bowman (Blake Lively), who through a magical moment during a freak accident becomes a woman who will never age another day. Adaline had to keep her life a secret and has never been able to settle down with someone to love, living life on the run.
Take a look at the trailer from The Age of Adaline for a taste of the movie which captures the visually stunning aspects of the film plus beautiful settings and trappings through the decades.
The main cast for the film includes Blake Lively, Michiel Huisman, Kathy Baker, Amanda Crew, with Harrison Ford, and Ellen Burstyn. A cast like that will make you want to run out and see this film NOW! I personally am a huge Harrison Ford fan and would go watch him in any movie, so extra bonus!
Blake Lively was certainly a great choice to play the lead role in this film as she is a fashion maven in her own right and can carry off the hairstyles and clothing of all 8 decades highlighted in this film. You can even sneak peek her glorious closet in this movie clip which highlights the century of fashion that The Age of Adaline spans.
Even more inspiring, in my opinion, is the “can’t miss” tumblr created for the film. It weaves movie stills from The Age of Adaline with historical moments from each decade coupled with fashion and settings that will transport you back to the decade you are viewing.
Which decade are you most interested to see Adaline live through?
I’m a few years late in realizing why in 2022 I just watched this film & I really feel stupid to know about a story as good as this.

She went through a lot of hairstyles for the movie. I like the last decade best.
Some of these styles are so classy! I wish we could go back to these times and bring back these styles.
Wow! What a Trailer! Really wants to make me go out Now and see this Movie~ I would want to see her in all 8 Decades. To see her stay young while her friends, Husbands, children etc Grow older then her. She is a Beautiful Woman and I just Love her in the Long Brownish Velour Dress in the Picture!! That Era has the most Fancy Clothes!!
Beautiful hairstyles. They overdid themselves in this movie and I know my wife found a number of hairstyles that she loved in the movie too!
I love to follow the modernization of hairstyles. I appreciated the review, keep up the good writings.
This is a very different and interesting film.I would love to see this.
Blake Lively is amazing, and is one of those women who looks timeless…She can pull of all of those hairstyles, and be modern the next day!
I am LIVING for the 40s hairstyle! I love love that look, I can’t wait to see this!
This movie captivated me (and I agree about Harrison Ford- I’ve loved every movie he’s been in!).
I’m most interested in seeing her live through the 30’s and 40’s and WWII. I am fascinated by WWII. According to your graphic, I love the hair from 1972. Thanks for sharing your honest review! kristiedonelson(at)gmail(dot)com Thank you.
