Did my Life get too Cluttered?
Blog Note: I have severely disappointed one of my readers, maybe more and I am sorry. I started this declutter challenge back in Jan., 2011. We had 3 months worth of prizes added to the pile and a nice group of readers jumped on board and participated enthusiastically. Then my life took over (one kid graduating high school out of state plus open house, one graduating college, sick mom, another kid moved out, high school senior went to college, 2 kids got licences, a wedding, a bridal shower, yada-yada-yada! ) Anywho, I let the ball drop on this and I am sorry! Especially to my dear reader who is upset with me. But the challenge isn’t ruined yet…we have this month to get caught up!
So Let’s Catch up!
Anyway the deal was, you were supposed to declutter one item everyday for 365 days. Then you were supposed to give your input every month into how you were doing as your entry and I would add a prize to the pile each month. You guys did an awesome job of commenting in the first three months.

LOL – I have three kids running in and out of this house – I think just keeping up with them and not having an opportunity to keep up with the clutter causes most of it. 🙂
My best tip is to turn on some of your favorite tunes and just dig in!
I was finally able to declutter my pantry! It felt awesome to get all the cookie cutters, sprinkles and other baking needs in one good spot!
The biggest area in my house is the extra room we have off the garage. It’s supposed to be the “man cave” but so far, it’s just been the collection area.
The part of my house that has the biggest clutter problem is my bedstand. I have multiple books, cards, and trinkets from my Grammie that I can’t part with. Truthfully, my husband’s “man cave” is the most cluttered but I don’t consider that a part of the house…it’s actually in a realm of its own!
actually I have gotten rid of about that many if not more things…still have a lot to go though
Declutter tip to clean really well, and then pick up and put the little things where they go so it does not build up too much.
My mom causes clutter in our house, because she is so busy, and when she cooks things don’t get put away.
myself stands in my way of decluttering
Kitchen is because it is so easy to set things down there, when your busy and leave them there.
Kitchen is my cluttered hot spot.
My biggest problem is to find a great organization method, to help me de-clutter.
my downfall is that I keep things I “might” need at a later date. I try to keep what I have used and throw out what i have not used that past ….year (should be less prob but I am a sucker)
put on some uppity music and get busy
I dont really have a storage tip…I need some 🙂 I do use an ottoman that has storage inside it where I keep extra throws..that count?
depends on the room, my husband clutters the computer room up my kids most of the house and I am bad about my sewing area and the kitchen
flylady says to spend 15 minutes in one room cleaning and have a basket for items that belong somewhere else in the house, that way you don’t get distracted in a different room (like I always do)
table in the hall and my desk. The kids and hubby and I think that these are the spots to throw things once we get in the house.
my sewing area which is also the formal dining room. We have out grown our house.
Bring in new, throw something old out.
