Did my Life get too Cluttered?
Blog Note: I have severely disappointed one of my readers, maybe more and I am sorry. I started this declutter challenge back in Jan., 2011. We had 3 months worth of prizes added to the pile and a nice group of readers jumped on board and participated enthusiastically. Then my life took over (one kid graduating high school out of state plus open house, one graduating college, sick mom, another kid moved out, high school senior went to college, 2 kids got licences, a wedding, a bridal shower, yada-yada-yada! ) Anywho, I let the ball drop on this and I am sorry! Especially to my dear reader who is upset with me. But the challenge isn’t ruined yet…we have this month to get caught up!
So Let’s Catch up!
Anyway the deal was, you were supposed to declutter one item everyday for 365 days. Then you were supposed to give your input every month into how you were doing as your entry and I would add a prize to the pile each month. You guys did an awesome job of commenting in the first three months.

My husband and mother-in-law are the ones who cause all the clutter – they don’t like to throw anything away!
If you haven’t missed it in the past 1-2 years, then just throw it away!
Our frontroom; currently under repair, so all clutter is hidden there.
My bedroom; no room for anything!
Unless you count individual dust bunnies, pennies, or dog hairs…probably not
Time, money (lack their of), and motivation stand in the way of my decluttering…
Motivation does not come easily…basically my motivation is my frustration….when I get fed up with something being cluttered I’ll tackle it.
I keep a lot of things vs. throwing them out because they have “sentimental” value….
A good storage tip is clear containers so you can see what’s in them…and labels!
there are so many people living in my house, it’s hard to pin point one culprit…..however I’m pretty surethe title goes to my kids!
My favorite tip (that I don’t follow) is from my father….if you haven’t used it, touched it, or anything of that nature in 6 or more months…pitch it or donate it!
The HOTSPOT in my house is the bookshelf….it’s right as you come into the house and it seems everything get’s deposited there but it NEVER leaves taht area!
my basement! I’ve inherited my parents house and ALL their stuff….let alone my own!! It’s a disaster!
I think i may be close to the 365 items between cleaning out clothes and bringing them to consignment and also posting other items on Freecycle to keep them out of the landfills.
I think my living room is the clutter hotspot since it is the one room we all hang out in-it’s a challenge to keep it clean.
My kids rooms are a disaster especially with the new toys from Christmas. I am slowly having them weed out the toys they no longer want and bring them to the consignment store to make a little extra cash.
It’s a tie between the garage and the basement.
no sadly i didnt get rid of 365 things this year.maybe half that amount
my kids stand in my way when i want to throw something out they can think of every reason under the sun for me to keep it..hubby is the same way also
the biggest factor for me in keeping something vs throwing if it was given by someone i love or is sentimental
