2015 Color of the Year Marsala

Pantone, the leading authority in color, recently announced its rich, captivating 2015 Color of the Year Marsala. Described as a “naturally earthy and robust wine red” by Pantone, this deep red-brown hue will be the must-have color in fashion, beauty and home décor in the coming year. Here’s some example pieces that you can find on Kohl’s site currently, but hurry this color sells out fast!

Marsala wine is a fortified wine from Sicily. It’s commonly used for cooking to create rich caramelized sauces. When you are wearing Marsala, you forget about the winter cold and start dreaming of the gorgeous Sicilian sun and countryside!

Kohl’s has so many different pieces in the Marsala tones, but if you see something in that tone…BUY IT! I found several of the items that I adored were gone just a week later. The marsala color is hot hot hot this year! Also visit Tanya’s Shopping Diet Blog  on Facebook to see how she styled the Marsala color.

Lipstick Queen - Red Carpet Edit Lipstick Feature:  The Lipstick featured in this post is from Lipstick Queen–Red Carpet Edit ($55).  All the lipsticks in this collection are enriched with nourishing natural oils and protective anti-oxidant Vitamin E, this hydrating trio will leaves lips soft, supple and deliciously moisturized.  Red Sinner was my favorite for the collection, because it looked great with everything I put on this winter season.  The Saint red was more sheer and good for everyday.  Finally the Red Metal really did have a metallic look that was a fun as it was surprising!

Update: This post on 2015 color of the year marsala originally had a giveaway attached. The Entry device had 9334 entries.  See Giveaway Winners.

I really like the Simply Vera Vera Wang Fit & Flare Sweater Dress. Because I love dresses that are sort of tight at the top and have a wide skirt to twirl.

Not super crazy about the color – I’m very pale with freckles, and don’t think this color quite suits me. 🙂 Kohl’s has a very cute Jockey panty that I’d rock, though.
