I wonder if they would ever consider taking younger participants in the future? I am only 32 and not going through menopause, but I get the most horrible hot flashes and would do anything to be rid of them.

I haven’t experienced them yet (thank goodness). My question is, how long does it generally last? Are we totally screwed for years and years, or is this temporary?
Well, that let’s me out. Four children is my contribution to the world, and this baby factory closed down, but it also moved out! ~hehehe~ Oh well. It would’ve been interesting. Hmmm Wonder why? I get hot flashes in fact just started getting them I think it was last year.
I thought this only happens to people who have insomnia. Is this study being conducted for the first time? How many people do they need to be qualified? Where are results getting published?

Dangit… the one time I’m too young for a research project! LOL I swear I have worse hot flashes than a 50yr old woman sometimes!
I’m a bit out of the age range did thuis but am curious to hear the results for future reference! I should share this with my mother though!
I haven’t started with the hot flashes yet. But this is a great post to bookmark.
Is it possible to have hot flashes prior to menopause? I just turned 30 and haven’t experienced them, but am curious if it could happen sooner.
HI Kecia, I am not a doctor but there is a condition called peri-menopause which is often the start of some of the menopausal symptoms. Consult your doctor for more specifics. The Chief Blonde
That’s an important study. Do hot flashes become more common after 40?
How long would the study actually last?
Your participation in this study will last approximately 13.5 months and include 8 study visits to the study center (a screening period of approximately 6 weeks, followed by about a year of study treatment with the study medication, if you are enrolled in the study). Some procedures during the screening period may require an additional visit to complete.
I was going to say that this would be perfect for my MIL, but she had to have a hysterectomy a couple years ago.
I really dislike the hot flashes because when it ends I am always freezing. My question is do the hot flashes ever end?
Hot flashes and night sweats are not fun. Good luck with the project!
I was wondering the same thing as Jenn about the night sweats. I have that happen (but so does my husband) so I wasn’t sure!
I’m glad I don’t have I this problem yet. But I’m sure its a problem I will deal with soon enough.
Do you know how long the study will be conducted? I’m not eligible, but my sister might be interested in something like this if it’s not a long-term commitment.

Do night sweats count as a hot flash? I sometimes wake up and need to change my pajamas. I hate it.
I was wondering if this study is available nationwide or only in certain cities?
Unfortunately at this time the REPLENISH Study is only recruiting patients at select research study sites in the U.S. Please check http://www.clinicaltrial.gov to find out if new sites become available in the coming months. [FYI- the company I work for is helping the pharmaceutical company get the word out about the trial.]
