Induction Cooking Defined
For this What is Induction Cooking post, the Chief Blonde was provided a review sample. Thanks Fagor!

What is Induction Cooking?
Considered one the most eco-friendly appliances for its efficiency, induction cooktops use 90% of the energy produced. The energy produced by the cooktop is directly supplied to the cooking vessel by a magnetic field. Self-adjusting burners detect the size of the cookware base and automatically adjust so that very little energy is wasted. Remarkable Induction cooking technology warms only the food and pan – not the cooking surface! There are no open flames or heating elements, so the glass surface remains cool to the touch and is easy to clean. So induction cooking is very safe and efficient!
The Chief Blonde Remarks: The Fagor 2-Piece Induction set that we are giving away today is so perfect for a college student on the go, outdoor cooking, camping, tailgaiting, boating or as an extra party burner. You just need a plug and you are set to cook in an efficient and safe manner. Here’s just a few of the features that I adore:
- Burner shuts off if no cookware is detected on it
- It’s compact! Only weighs 5 pounds
- The 2 pc Induction set from Fagor comes with a pan so you can start cooking right away
- Cool display panel that relates to standard cooking terms
- Cooktop has a digital display and a timer
- The cookware gets hot, but the burner does not (Induction heat!)
I have always wanted to try induction heating, and this is certainly a inexpensive way to start learning. Fagor even has induction recipes that you can use to get started.
I have 4 college students and I know they would all love this kind of cooking as it gets food ready 50% faster (as long as their dorms allow use of induction appliances). Fagor also understands that energy and resource conservation is a major concern for students today and has a company initiative in support of environmental preservation through ultra-efficient products, eco-friendly manufacturing and the use of recycled packaging. That ROCKS in my opinion.

I LOVE the 30″ GAS COOKTOP! I could use a new one and this has 5 burners that are sealed to allow for easy clean-up!

SPECIALTY COOKING HALOGEN TABLETOP OVEN
The site says that it holds a lot of food and it “Cooks up to 50% faster and is up to 75% more energy efficient than a conventional oven.” In the summer, I refuse to cook inside in order to keep our electric bill to a minimum. This would be a great treat to me 😉 when it’s pouring rain in the summer!
I would love the Home Canning Kit. I could use it to can up the extras from our garden.
I’d love to have the 24″ DUAL ZONE WINE COOLER. Perfect for my wine collection!
I’d like to try the Enerjuicer because it looks like a high quality juice extractor.
I would like to try the Platino Slow Juicer as I just watched the documentary ‘Fat,Sick, and Nearly Dead’ and he was able to not only lose weight but also give up many of his prescription drugs which I would love to do.
I would love to have the 2-in-1 Electric Multi Cooker. It looks like something could really use when we want to slow cook something. (Since we don’t have a slow cooker.)
I’d like to try the stainless/8 wash cycle dishwasher
I would like to try the Halogen Table Top Oven for faster easier cooking!
I would like the REFRIGERATORS – SIDE BY SIDE W/ DISPENSER because we are looking to buy one within the next six months and winning one (hypothetically) would be awesome
The 24″ European convection oven because i’m in need of a new oven and want it to be convection 🙂
I would love to get a Wine Cooler because I have been wanting one.
