Induction Cooking Defined
For this What is Induction Cooking post, the Chief Blonde was provided a review sample. Thanks Fagor!

What is Induction Cooking?
Considered one the most eco-friendly appliances for its efficiency, induction cooktops use 90% of the energy produced. The energy produced by the cooktop is directly supplied to the cooking vessel by a magnetic field. Self-adjusting burners detect the size of the cookware base and automatically adjust so that very little energy is wasted. Remarkable Induction cooking technology warms only the food and pan – not the cooking surface! There are no open flames or heating elements, so the glass surface remains cool to the touch and is easy to clean. So induction cooking is very safe and efficient!
The Chief Blonde Remarks: The Fagor 2-Piece Induction set that we are giving away today is so perfect for a college student on the go, outdoor cooking, camping, tailgaiting, boating or as an extra party burner. You just need a plug and you are set to cook in an efficient and safe manner. Here’s just a few of the features that I adore:
- Burner shuts off if no cookware is detected on it
- It’s compact! Only weighs 5 pounds
- The 2 pc Induction set from Fagor comes with a pan so you can start cooking right away
- Cool display panel that relates to standard cooking terms
- Cooktop has a digital display and a timer
- The cookware gets hot, but the burner does not (Induction heat!)
I have always wanted to try induction heating, and this is certainly a inexpensive way to start learning. Fagor even has induction recipes that you can use to get started.
I have 4 college students and I know they would all love this kind of cooking as it gets food ready 50% faster (as long as their dorms allow use of induction appliances). Fagor also understands that energy and resource conservation is a major concern for students today and has a company initiative in support of environmental preservation through ultra-efficient products, eco-friendly manufacturing and the use of recycled packaging. That ROCKS in my opinion.

I would love to have an automatic dishwasher. We have to wash dishes by hand- a huge chore when I have to cook for 5 people every night. I wish I could have a dishwasher that I can just load, run, and relax.
I’d like the fully integrated custom 8 dishwasher
In addition to the induction cooking set I would like to get my hands on the Electric Pressure Cooker. My mother had a pressure cooker when I was a kid (I’m in my 50’s now), and she bravely cooked some awesome meals with it. The Fagor Pressure Cooker looks very safe with its self locking lid and automatic pressure release. I really like that the lid will not open while there is pressure inside. With everything it can do (“Equipped with high and low pressure cooking settings, keep warm, brown, time delay & start/stop”) maybe I could actually cook a meal that would have made my Mom proud.
I really need a new fridge, so I’m loving the Fagor side by side refrigerator here: http://www.fagoramerica.com/appliances/refrigerators/side_by_side Thanks for the chance to win!
I like the pressure cooker because it would save time cooking and meats would be very tender.
Fagor’s Dual Technology Digital Toaster Oven because I can cook so many things without using my stove.
Thanks for the contest.
side by side white refrigator….
I would love to try their slow cooker. I love that it doubles as a pressure cooker. And I think it would be safer for my kids because it won’t open while there is pressure. That’s really cool.
I would love to try their DIGITAL TOASTER OVEN because it has a function for 10 pre-set cooking programs Bake, Toast, Broil, Rotisserie, Pizza, Cake, Chicken, Cookie, Fish and Potato and cooks quicker than a regular toaster oven
I would like to try the WINE COOLER (24″ DUAL). We purchase wine when we travel and I haven’t a good place to store it all until we use it. I could also use something to keep it at the right temperature.
The Electric Pressure Cooker Plus because I want to start canning the vegetables from our garden.
I like the 6 qt electric pressure cooker-maybe it would decrease my fear of using one.
I need a new cook top would love to get another one
I’ve always wanted a wine cooler so I would love to try out the 24″ dual wine cooler. I love the 44 bottle capacity.
I would love to try their tall tub dishwasher because I hate dishes.
I like the 24″ DUAL ZONE WINE COOLER. My husband loves wine and it would be nice to have a place to store them and keep them cool.
I would like the double bloiler because I have never owned one.
I like the 6 qt electric pressure cooker. I love to pressure cook and this would be perfect for my use.
I would love the ISLAND MOUNTED PYRAMID range hood
The Digital Toaster would be nice to have because i could cook many things in it
