Are you Panicking? Have a Urgent Care Need?
Today’s conversation is sponsored by Amwell.
Amwell can ease your mind
You’ve had it happen. And when it does happen, it’s always on the weekend, late at a night or a holiday. You feel sick or worried and you need to talk to a doctor to ease your mind. Sure, sometimes you can wait to get answers until your doctor’s office opens, but sometimes you just can’t wait. So you go to an emergency room or urgent care. Uggh, I can’t even. But we all know that’s the very last alternative when you need medical answers now. Or is it?
I was recently introduced to Amwell, which is the nation’s largest telehealth company, connecting users with board-certified, licensed doctors, dietitians and psychologists for immediate and live, online visits—day or night, on either mobile or desktop. They are available 24/7, with doctors always available to talk to you about such things as bronchitis, cough, sinus infection, sore throat, urinary tract, infection, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, pinkeye, flu, sprains and strains, cold, respiratory infection, headache, depression, anxiety, weight concerns, and smoking cessation.
It’s Easy to Talk to Doctors from your Home
So how easy is it to use a telehealth service? It took me 1 minute to log-in, 2 minutes to download a video viewing app, 2 minutes to fill out my health survey and profile, and 1 minute to upload a picture of my issues.
I then goofed around doing blogging things and watching TV and then I was finally ready to talk to the doctor at 12:30 am. So I came back and choose an available doctor.
Because I goofed around, I had to re-enter some of my medical information but I liked that because I felt they were respecting my privacy. When the doctor came on the screen, she was very helpful. I actually had a concern which involved further testing, but she told me exactly what kind of doctor to go to and said she wouldn’t bill me for the service! (I had a coupon code and I have one for you and the end of this article too!)

Here’s the reasons I prefer Amwell:
- Quick Prescriptions. The doctor can order your medicine right to your pharmacy and it will be ready when you get there.
- Instead of worrying all night, getting bad information from some forum, or heading to the ER, I can just call Amwell and get seen by a real doctor who can help me with my issues.
- Lower cost. Online visits to Amwell are a real cost saving. In-office visits often cost $82 for first-time patients according to the Healthcare Blue Book, Amwell offers a $49 physician visit – a savings of $33.
Try Amwell yourself for $1!

This is very interesting
I thank you for this great information. This may help my friend who has this as a problem.
I’ve wanted to try an online doctor for awhile. Good to know that they really care about whats going on with you. I love how it’s so fast to get a prescription and that if I’m just to sick to leave the house, I can do it from the couch. Thanks so much for this review! I will definitely try them out.
Sounds wonderful, I wish that they had a Veterinary one too.
Thanks for the Post and the Code!
Thanks for this information. My mom is 90, and there seem to be endless questions about her health.
I can see where this would be very helpful for parents with kids.
This is such a good thing. As a nurse myself I’m happy to see health care offered in this way making it easy for people who can’t afford health care to have access.
This is nice to know about. With a cheaper price than a doctors visit = money saved. Great that they are available 24/7 too . thanks for the info
I used a nurse service like this once because of what was happening and I wasn’t sure if I should go to the emergency room. It ended up being a gall bladder attack and the nurse advised me to go in.
As a healthcare provider I can definitely see benefits to being able to see patients this promptly.
You gave a very interesting review! It sure kept my attention! Its amazing how you can talk to a certified doctor in your own area!! Even more that they can actually help you and order a prescription for you. This is really great to have . As many times as my children were sick when they were younger I could have used a Friend like Amwell! Thankyou so much for this very Helpful Information!
I like they do this. There is no waiting 3 hours for something that you know already what it is and just need medicine. I have waited in line for something I have been there many times for.
I am SO excited by this. I live about 45 miles from the nearest clinic, and this would make my life so much easier. I could see using this for smaller issues, as well as finding out if I needed a physical evaluation.
I never knew you could access this and it would be great to have that is for sure. Thanks for the information.
Wow this is a really great idea. I’ve def had those moments when you can’t quite decide whether to go see a doctor for a problem or not (especially for my toddler).
I don’t know how I feel about this. I do have questions that I would love to ask a doctor, without going to one, but I’m not sure I trust it.
Amwell sounds like a great service, it’s definitely worth trying. Thank you for sharing this review.
I like that is a service that is truly about the customer!
