One gift is enough so anything above that is excessive.

I think it becomes obsessive when you spend out of your means to buy lots of gifts. I believe over gifting also sends the wrong message to children.

That is so far beyond excessive. Looks like someone was desperate to get featured on the Wendy show. Somehow Christmas has become a competition and it makes me sad. Most kids get bored after opening the first few gifts anyway, they want to play, not have to do chores all day. There are so many really good kids that have nothing. Imagine being unknowing sucker that gets married to one of those kids.

Excessive is when you go broke and can’t afford bills. Enough is the thought that counts.

I think it teaches the children that Christmas is about gifts and not about what is really is, in my belief, Christ Jesus was born that day, He and He alone is my gift… I would rather share a word of goodness and share a slice of bread with my family than to ever ever think of doing something like this..

oh and Wendy, you look fabulous!!

Its excessive when you have to start worrying about money & whether you can afford to purchase them. I like purchasing one small gift per person that I know they will like.

I think the true meaning of Christmas is lost when you give too many presents. However, what one family considers too many is probably different from another family. Use good judgement!

Christmas is not about spending and gifting. We try to make homemade gifts in our home because it is from the heart not the wallet.

I don’t think people spend too much money! My family (years ago) always set a limit so no one would feel bad.

I think when there is a balance between what they want and what they need, that is enough. No one needs to have everything on their list.

I think “enough” varies person to person. When did Christmas become about the price tag though? Some years my kids have a ton of stuff under the tree because I get lucky and win contests or scores some awesome deals, others there is very little under the tree. This doesn’t mean that one Christmas is better than the other.

We need to get back to spending quality time with loved ones and enjoy the simple things money can’t buy like love. Simplify our lives and let the consumer fueled Santa crazies realize that Jesus is the reason for the season not gifts

That’s a hard question to answer! That photo LOOKS excessive, but I’ve read that it wasn’t just gifts for the kids, but for the whole family. And what’s in there? A bunch of iPads and expensive gadgets or socks and clothes???

I guess, “excessive” would have to be… when you’re spending more than you can afford. I hate to see kids get spoiled, but if you can afford to give them a car for the holidays, then I guess that isn’t excessive 🙂
