UPF Hats for Women — Protecting your face and hair from the sun
What is UPF?
According to SkinCancer.org:
UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor. It indicates what fraction of the sun’s ultraviolet rays can penetrate the fabric. A shirt with a UPF of 50, for example, allows just 1/50th of the sun’s UV radiation to reach the skin.
SPF is a more common term to measure sun protection, however, SPF is used in conjunction with sunscreens and other sun-protective products. While UPF measures the amount of sun that penetrates fabric, SPF measures the amount of time it takes sun exposed skin to start to burn.
