UPF Dresses | April Amazon Shopping Haul

April 2, 2019 By Shelley Zurek 213 Comments

UPF Dresses for women are the perfect clothing item for spring!

UPF Dresses for Women — Protecting your body from the sun with out sunscreen

UPF Dress Columbia Women's freezer dress
Columbia Freezer III Dress (17 colors, UPF 30, machine wash, Polyester/Elastane), Grey Straw Hat, Yellow flatform sandals, Yellow Necklace

UPF Dresses are also a necessary clothing item for the spring, summer and fall. In the winter, UPF Dresses for women are useful for cruise season, resorts, and other tropical vacations. I have an striped UPF dress by SPFaddict, I wear all year round!

What is UPF?

According to SkinCancer.org:

UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor. It indicates what fraction of the sun’s ultraviolet rays can penetrate the fabric. A shirt with a UPF of 50, for example, allows just 1/50th of the sun’s UV radiation to reach the skin.

SPF is a more common term to measure sun protection, however, SPF is used in conjunction with sunscreens and other sun-protective products. While UPF measures the amount of sun that penetrates fabric, SPF measures the amount of time it takes sun exposed skin to start to burn.

If you want plan on protecting your body from the sun without sunscreen, then you need to buy UPF dresses that are a high UPF (15+ UPF is good, 50+ UPF is GREAT!)

I’m not a very big fan of dresses, mostly wear jeans and Capris but love the look and comfort of the Lark & Ro Women’s Classic Cap Sleeve Wrap Dress!

I like this UPF dress Coolibar UPF 50+ Women’s Beach Cover-Up Dress – Sun

It is white which reflects the sun, casual for my Florida style wear and long sleeved to cover my flabby arms and other imperfections. ( Is that original?)

I like the Lilly Pulitzer Women’s UPF 50+ Sophie Dress. It is very fashionable, and having protection from the sun is very important to me, usually I’m buried in layers, hats, and staying way out of the sun, looking a little strange! It would be great to actually look good and be protected!

I don’t wear dresses unless they are tie dye so I would go with the Aqua Design Womens Swimwear: One Piece Modest Swim Dress UPF 50+ Swimsuit since I’ve a big lady and no one wants to see my thighs…. including me! 🙂
