Simple is a Great Reason for Simple Start
For this Simple Start: Top Reasons to Try It! post, I was given a free one month subscription to Weight Watchers to try their new Simple Start plan and write about my experience. Though I was compensated for my time and commitment, all views, positive and negative, are my own.
Simple Start Breakfast Pizza Recipe!
Just a Simple Recap!
As you may have read in my initial post: Snowmageddon, Snowpocalypse and Snowzilla! Help I need a Simple Start!, I am trying the two week . In that post, I discussed how I am going on long delayed (15 years) Honeymoon Cruise and I want to look my best. Drawing inspiration from Jessica Simpson, who just had a baby and is working on getting fit, I am walking 10,000 steps a day (using my Note 3 to keep track) and starting on the Simple Start plan. I downloaded the Simple Start app (available for Iphone and Android) and started trying all the great Simple Start meals.
I have made PROGRESS! Here’s what I like about Simple Start so far…
I have been trying Simple start for a week now. I constantly think about aspects of the program I love! If you are considering starting your year off right, you might want to hear all the things I adore so far.

1. The Shopping List — When using the Simple Start program you can print out a great basic shopping list. Check off the foods you need and add others you want to buy. I may just adopt this as my main shopping list. I only wish it was available on the Smart Start app to check things off!
2. 55 Different Meals to Eat — During the 2 weeks you are on Simple Start, you have 55 different meal and snack choices! All the easy recipes are right on the app and the Weight Watchers Site. When I am hungry, I like to look at the pictures of what meal I can make or eat next!
3. The Simple Start App — The Simple Start app is like having a second brain. During my first week on the program, I found can take it to the store with me and use it to consult on the go! The pictures are vivid and it has really helped with meal planning for the last week!
4. Meal Swapping is allowed — You can substitute breakfast for lunch or lunch for supper! This aspect of the plan surprised me in the first week. I adore eating breakfast and salads so I find myself eating more of those meals than dinners!
5. Webcasts–The Simple Start program has regular interactive webcasts which you can register for once you have started the plan. You can watch them live once or if you miss them (like I usually do), you’ll get a email letting you know they are in the archive. I have watched the first two webcasts. I find them super chatty and friendly. They are packed with REAL tips for making Simple Start work for you because they are led by real Weight Watchers leaders!
6. Simple to Prepare Meals and Snacks –When I began Simple Start last week, I was nervous. I had never done Weight Watchers before and I was afraid it would be too complicated, but after a week I realized it isn’t! I am able to pick from great meals, prepare them quickly and I feel full. I hardly ever have a snack (but I do eat my indulgences each day!) Watch this video to see the great breakfast I prepared for myself.
Be sure to come back on 1/20 to read my Simple Start Wrap up post! Meanwhile, I will dreaming about how cute I will be looking in these fashions on my cruise vacation!

I am loving that dress and all of this food looks great. If you have food that tastes good you don’t feel like you are missing out.

This sounds like a great way to stay in shape.
All these dishes look amazingly delicious! I never knew being on Weight Watchers could be so tasty! I’ll have to check them out.
I have been on a lot of “dieting” plans, but it would take a huge lifestyle change for me to lose weight…along with a stopping of medication that I take, that have weight-gaining side effects!!!
The eggs recipe looks very yummy. Interesting how they have 55 meal plans to interchange.
the food looks amazing. i think i will give coscous a second chance after looking at these recipes
I like how well planned out it is while still allowing you some versatility to make it yours. The shopping list of basic foods would be great for you to customize it to you, and the food looks good.

I’m with you on this journey. Joining you on the 10,000 step challenge. And doing the 1200 calorie diet on myfitnessplan, very similar to WW. Will report back.
Oh can’t wait to hear Judy!! I am doing okay. Missed my 10K on two days so far but otherwise been hitting
I’m on a mission to lose 10 lbs. by mid-Feb. So far I’ve lost 2.5. in two weeks, but wasn’t easy. Also bought a foldable recumbent bike to use during my binge watching.
Yum! That pizza looks delicious. I love the variety of meals offered and how easy they are to prepare.
We love breakfast for dinner, so the meal swapping is such an awesome component of this program. You are going to have an awesome cruise and so much energy to see and do all the activities you want.
Hi! I’m a newbie here, and I just wanted to say hey…I found you by way of Mrs. Weber’s blog, as I am also a Michigan blogger. My name is Courtney, and I blog over at The Brown Girl with Long Hair. (LOVE your blog title’s reference to hair, by the way. 😉
I love your site. I’ll be back!
Welcome Courtney! We hair girls need to stick together! Do you blog about Style?
Hey, Shelley!
Yup. I blog about style…motherhood…being an NFL wife…organization…and, of course, my hair! I blog about it all. You can find me here: thebrowngirlwithlonghair.com/
Have a super Friday!!
Would love you to link up to our weekly style hop here: https://stillblondeafteralltheseyears.com/2014/01/golden-globe-fashion-stars-45-fashionista-style-hop/ Sign up for the emails too so we can remind you each week. I am running over now to check out your blog. So pleased to meet you!
Thank you, Shelley!
I’m so in — thanks for the invite! I’d love to join your style blog hop…but should I wait until I’ve added a fashion/style-type post? (I don’t write about fashion everyday, as I mix up my posts between motherhood, organization, NFL stuff, etc. Like, next week I’m adding a post called “You Know You’re an NFL Wife when…”, which should be a hoot.) Please let me know! I just signed up for the e-mail reminders, too! Sooo excited about this! Yay!
No, get in there now. Use an old one that is relevant. Glad to have you. Glad you signed up for the email cuz then you will know which blog it is on. Here’s the Link again to link up: https://stillblondeafteralltheseyears.com/2014/01/golden-globe-fashion-stars-45-fashionista-style-hop/
Be sure and take lots of pictures on your cruise. I’ve never been on one and would love to read a few posts about what all you got to do/see while you are gone.
Just be sure to enjoy it. And that wonderful husband of yours! Memories are better than pictures!
I will do that Elle!
I love that there are 55 meals to choose from! I am so excited to go through the program with you!
