Russell Athletic Review: Keeping Dry In A TOUGH Situation

May 30, 2012 By Shelley Zurek 94 Comments

Russell Athletic Dri-Power Moisture Wicking Technology Works!

Russell Athletics

Today, I had a very untypical day.  Maybe I should back it up…My usual day is get up, have a diet coke and 100 calorie Thomas English Muffin with Cream Cheese, read a chapter from a book (Current Read: Tina Fey’s Bossypants), clean up around the house a little, shower, put on some  clothes (sometimes exercise clothes), do a little yoga, and start to blog.  Today was about the same until the step where I “do a little yoga”.

I had just put on my new exercise clothes from Russell Athletic.  See that darling green DriPower 360 Round Neck T and those grey Cotton Stretch Capris pictured above?  Yeah, I had just put those on and I was feeling pretty spiffy!  My usual yoga/blogging clothes are either my pjs or some really old sweats from the early 2000s.  Really faded and out of style.  I had no one at my house to take my pictures, so I actually had to figure out how to take my own pictures.  I think it didn’t turn out too bad for my first self -photograph?

So then, out of the corner of my eye…I SAW MOVEMENT…FLUTTERING MOVEMENT.  Realizing that I was not  living in a episode of “The Birds” but an episode of “True Blood“, I screamed “BAT!!” to no one imparticular and ran from the Family Room.  Apparently,  the bat was loving the high ceilings, so he had a grand old time winging back and forth across the room.  I was in the kitchen cowering, crying and madly dialing anyone who would listen.  Thanks goodness I had on my Russell Athletics Dri-Power Tee!  I was hotflashing  up a storm.  I even had to take some estrogen–I couldn’t believe how I fell apart.  But my Dri-Power Tee just kept the sweat away from my body and I never felt drenched or got arm stains from all the stress!

Finally, a non-sissy neighbor of mine came over and calmly walked through the house.  Well, I had propped my front door open..so apparently the bat flew out the front door.  I called “Batman” (a bat guy) just to be sure–he couldn’t find the bat either.   I still wasn’t sure that the bat was gone.  My neighbor took this shot of me “after the bat incident” but I couldn’t shake the terrified look from my face so  my head had to be edited out of the picture!  I’ll tell you one thing, I am sure if I wouldn’t have had that the Russell Athletic Dri-Power shirt on,  my top would have been dripping wet from the sweating terror!

So still feeling nervous, I tiptoed  into the bedroom and put on the Russell Athletic Pink Full Coverage Performance Tank and Black Semi-Fit Performance Capris.  Well, I must say these looked and felt much nicer that my regular exercise clothes. So comfortable to stretch in with  no binding sleeves  and long enough so that no “muffin top”  was hanging out.  The Yoga pants fit like a dream and moved quite easily through Yoga and beyond into the rest of my day of blogging, wash, dinner prep, and “Bat” Lookout.

I had never worn clothing before that had the Dri-Power moisture wicking technology!  It was high 80s here and I didn’t have the air on or a fan (I was listening for the return of the BAT) and I never broke a sweat (or at least it didn’t feel like it).  I can tell you for a post-menopausal woman that feels awesome.  The way the Dri-Power moisture wicking technology works is that removes sweat away from your body to keep you dry and comfortable.  I also felt the Russell athletic wear was extremely well made with an excellent design that any Women over 45 (and our younger friends) will surely appreciate.  For more information on Russell Athletic wear for Women,  please visit: http://www.russellathletic.com/womens/

I’m all about the “long tops” too! I’m 6’0″ tall, so I find it REALLY difficult to find workout tops that aren’t meant for people who are 5’8″! You are so funny! I love your ninja pose kickboxer pose!

I like the last picture, where it looks like you’re getting ready to attack the bat. LOL.

My parents once had a bat in their upstairs bedroom (back when they used it as theirs). My mother let out a very shrill scream. When my father discovered what the issue was, he grabbed one of his guns and killed the bat. I don’t recall what he did with it exactly, or how.

The pink outfit looks more cooler, I like it. And all your poses are good, considering you had to take them yourself, too funny!

EEEGADS!!!! Save yourself!!! I do believe that the green top and the gray capri’s look quite fetching on you but what is of paramount importance is the fact that one can look cool while flashing with the hots…Will they ever stop????!!!!
