Palazzo Pants, the wear anywhere pants
The pant for any age — Palazzo pants
What are palazzo pants? They are long women’s trousers cut with a loose, extremely wide leg that flares out from the waist. Palazzo pants for women first became a popular trend in the late 1960s and early 1970s, I distinctly remember my mom had a black pair. She was only 5′ 2″ but somehow she carried them off.
This spring you will find palazzo pants and trousers everywhere. You will find every color under the sun, however, the most prevalent look and fabric for this season, is a black and white graphic print, such as these Weekend Palazzo Pants from Monroe and Main that they sent along asked me to style. Discover how the looks I created with the palazzo and how easy this pant style is for anyone to wear.
Date Night
Yes, that’s STILL snow in the background but I am ignoring it and thinking SPRING. When Walt takes me out, I always dress up. The Weekend Palazzo pants ($70) from Monroe and Main worn with their off the shoulder Lace Peasant top ($50, $13 Sale) gives just the right mix of elegance and sexy. Strappy sandals (new from Salvation Army $4) and a vintage necklace from my mother are the final touches!
Off to the Theater
Just to show you can always step up the elegance factor, I paired my palazzos with this gorgeous blush pink Monroe and Main Gala Tux Jacket ($99, also worn here), this figure flattering Monroe and Main Scuba Peplum top ($60), and a just the right size Monroe and Main Metal Mesh Bag ($40). Just in case I need to head out dancing afterward, my shoes are Seychelles in black and pink ( $100).
Shopping around town
Because I work at home all day, when I go shopping I like to dress fun and bright. My Monroe and Main palazzos look cute with this bright aqua one-size-fits-all Monroe and Main Reversible tank ($20). This tank comes in 4 other colors (black, cobalt, coral and white) and I MUST HAVE THEM ALL! For shoes, I have on my ribboned Bally Oxfords (similar) and my favorite vintage cashmere cardigan (also worn here).

Lunch at the Pool
That SNOW in background is distracting but this is a wonderful outfit for hanging out by the pool in the summer. Once again, I paired the palazzo pants with my bright aqua one-size-fits-all Monroe and Main Reversible tank but this time I also wore this Monroe and Main Crochet Shrug ($40). While I have tons of shrugs, this is my favorite because it’s longer. For women over 45 with a larger bust, a shrug can really be forgiving. Make sure to check out how my blogging partner Katy styled the palazzo pant as well over on Modly Chic.

This is the first I’m hearing of or seeing Palazzo Pants. They look super comfy and fantastic on you!
Those look great on you! Love that you can style them so many different ways!
Those are really cute! They can go with so many different blouses too!
Those pants look great on you!! What a great giveaway and prize package!
Those are super cute! I’m 8 pounds away from my weightloss goal and these trendy pants would be a great treat to celebrate once I reach my target.
You know, I’ve never even owned Palazzo pants before. I like them, I’d probably wear them on occasion.
Girl, you are cracking me up with the bare feet while there is snow on the ground. I LOVE me some Palazzo pants! They look fantastic on you!
I honestly don’t know if I could pull those off. They look great on you though! They’re definitely unique!
These pants are so cute. I would def wear them!!
I absolutely love the look of palazzo pants. I’m short (5’2″ like your mom) and chunky, though, so I’m hesitant about how flattering they will be.
Those look so comfortable! I will definitely be wearing Palazzo pants this spring!
I probably won’t because I don’t think I have the pizzazz to pull them off. I’m not as stylish and tend to stick to my basics. You however look ah-ma-zing!
I feel like Palazzo pants are very ’70s 🙂 but the ’70s are back in fashion this spring! Looks interesting.
Hey Shelley!
I love those pants, they seem so versatile…and they look amazing! However, you look amazing too!! Monroe and Main has beautiful clothes. 🙂
Thanks Jodi!
While they look really comfortable and GREAT on you, I think they’d show every lump and bump on me – without some Spanx or panty hose underneath. Frankly, I prefer something with a little more structure, so I think I’ll have to pass on the Palazzo Pants.
This is a great prize! Date night is always more fun when you have a super cute outfit to make your hubby a speechless boob.
WOWZA Shelley! These are some great looks! Those pants look awesome on you! Glad you love them. 🙂
Your clothes are so easy to wear! Thanks for choosing me! What did Sue think? Shelley
I love how those pants can be dressed up or down with the change of a top. They look great on you!
I am not sure if I could rock those the way you do. I like the look of them, though, so I would try a pair.
