KITH NYFW Spring Summer 2018 Manicures Nail Art

ESSIE KITH Spring Summer 2018 NYFW Manicures Nail Art

This season, the Kith Spring 2018 show redefined the idea of the modern tomboy with flashes of red, navy, gray, cream, and shearling. Going with the theme, Alicia Torello for essie played with flattering nude shades on some models, while giving a few a sporty nail art design that included racing stripes and a take on the Champion® logo, a true symbol of athletic style.

Get the Champion® Look

1. Apply essie first base base coat
2. Add two coats of essie blanc
3.  On the ring fingers, paint a half circle of essie really red with the flat edge going across the middle of the nail and the curved section dipping toward the nailbed
4. With a striping brush, add essie butler please along the flat edge of the semi-circle of really red. Then, apply it in an elongated “C” shape around the border of the nail, tapering in at the tips
5. On the remaining fingers, paint a vertical line of really red slightly to the right of the middle of the nail. Then apply another stripe of butler please to the left side of the really red line
6. Finish with essie speed.setter top coat

Tibi NYFW Spring Summer 2018 Manicures Nail Art

jinSoon Tibi NYFW Spring Summer 2018 Manicures Nail Art

The Tibi Spring/Summer 2018 collection took inspiration from the street style scene during the 1980s
in New York City–when style was born out of curiosity, functionality and individuality. This inspired Tibi designer Amy Smilovic and Jin Soon Choi to create a nail look that celebrated the time period’s absolute freedom of style. To do this, Jin Soon Choi designed an unexpected bold stripe accent on one nail to express each model’s individuality, while keeping the foundation natural and glossy.

Get the JINsoon Street Style Nail Inspiration

1. Prep and shape nails with the JINsoon Diamond Nail File (similar)
2. Apply JINsoon Dew as a base coat on each nail
3. Create a stripe design on each index finger or a finger of choice, with the new JINsoon shade of purple
(coming Spring 2018! similar) or the new JINsoon shade of black (coming Fall 2018!)
4. Using a striping tool, apply two coats of the preferred color, with one stripe thicker than the other to create a bold look. Add the stripes vertically or diagonally depending on your mood
5. Finish the look with JINsoon Top Gloss for a high shine finish

This one is not my favorite, but it’s different for sure. Products used essie first base base coat, blanc, really red, and speed.setter

Michael Costello NYFW Spring Summer 2018 Manicures Nail Art

ESSIE MCostello NYFW Spring Summer 2018 Manicures Nail Art

Michael Costello set out to create the dreamlike feel of a secret garden with soft organza and flashes of sparkle for his Spring 2018 and Bridal Collections. Julie Kandalec for essie played into his ethereal vision with two different looks: blush ombré and a hand-painted floral design.

Get the essie Secret Garden Nail Inspiration

1. Apply essie first base base coat
2. Add two coats of essie topless & barefoot
3. Using a thin brush, draw on squiggly curved lines to mimic petals with essie penny talk, grouping them slightly at the nailbed
4. Finish with essie speed.setter top coat

Rebecca Minkoff NYFW Spring Summer 2018 Manicures Nail Art ESSIE RMinkoff NYFW Spring Summer 2018 Manicures Nail Art

This season, essie Global Color Designer Rebecca Minkoff turned to Rolling Stones muse Anita Pallenberg featuring rich fur, velvet, and corduroy. Running with that rock ‘n’ roll spirit, Michelle Saunders for essie created a strip of dressed to the nineties surrounded by girly grunge to call to mind the sliver of a feline pupil—a play on words that made for a clever take on the 60s “cat eye” using NEW essie fall 2017 shades. The end-result? A look that’s fierce, yet refined.

Get the essie Dressed to the ’90s Nail Inspiration

1. Apply essie first base base coat to dry, clean nails
2. Apply one coat of essie dressed to the nineties down the middle of the nail from cuticle to tip
3. To create two curved lines, apply essie metallic girly grunge to each side of the nail, angling in slightly toward the middle at the top. This reveals a “pupil” of the dressed to the nineties layer below.
4. Finish the look in less than 60 seconds with essie speed.setter top coat

I chose the product, “essie Gel Couture Bridal Nail Polish Collection”. The color is to have and to gold. I thought it was such a cute idea. Thanks for the chance!
