NYC Inspired: Elie Tahari for DesigNation, Kohl’s,

October 22, 2014 By Shelley Zurek 154 Comments

Look who’s Modeling Elie Tahari for DesigNation…Elle Tahari for DesigNation

The Chief Blonde is wearing the Elie Tahari for DesigNation NYC Skyline Fit & Flare Dress , Kohl’s($84, Sale $58), Simply Vera Vera Wang Opaque Control-Top Tights, Kohl’s ($14, Sale $10), Tiffany Atlas Collection Bracelet and Earrings, Gold and O-ring Ring (Swiss made), Glass Necklace (similar).  All Photos: R. Jolly

Kohl’s just brought out the Elie Tahari for DesigNation line. With iconic cityscape prints and a cosmopolitan color palette, the Elie Tahari for DesigNation collection captures the fresh, unabashed attitude of the city that never sleeps. They sent me along a few pieces to feature. I think you will enjoy this video where Elie Tahari discusses his design philosophy for the collection.

While this line is featured on a younger crowd in the video, I think it translates well across age groups.

Elie Tahari for DesigNation Scuba Mixed-Media Bomber Jacket ($120, Sale $84)

I wore this outfit when I went with my 4 sister-in-laws for lunch at Buon Gusto in Brighton, MI. A lady in the restaurant came over, out of the blue, and asked me where I got my jacket. I let her try it on and she turned to her mom and said, “We’re going to Kohl’s after lunch.” Another cute story about this outfit, I asked in a facebook blogging group for a little photo help with the main photo for this post.  The blogger who helped me fix my issue, loved the dress so much she went out that night and bought it for herself!

What do you think of the the new Elie Tahari for DesigNation line?

Tina, if you live close to a Kohl’s just order two different sizes online. Shipping will be free (cuz it’s over $75 for both) and then try it at home with your shoes and lighting. That’s what I do.

I love the structure of that dress, the bottom is gorgeous, and just look at those shoulders! I love that I can buy this collection at Kohl’s and the commercials for this collection really move me to get in the store and check it out. I love that the line is inspired by NYC, and the movement is evident in all of the many pieces.

It’s certainly very striking. You look fantastic in that dress and jacket. I just wish it had more color – the royal blue is a lovely addition but the black, white and grey is a little neutral for me.

You look gorgeous as always. You can’t go wrong with a little black dress, and the medallion is SUPER cool.

I love that dress. And if they have one my size it would probably look good on me too. But I really love the boots/shoes you are wearing in that pic. Where did you get those? I might actually be able to wear those…for at least an hour :p lol

Hi Elle, They are from a site called Nasty Girl but they have versions of them everywhere. Yes the big chuncky heel makes it very easy to walk in them. I love them. Shelley
