New Series from OvationTV “Versailles” Premieres 10/1

The history and life of King Louis XIV of France is coming to television in the new series Versailles. OvationTV Versailles captures the romance, drama, and betrayal that surrounded the Sun King while featuring the beauty and opulence of France’s 17th century high society.

The most-expensive series ever produced in France, Versailles takes the period genre to new dimensions, injecting a vibrant modernity into an era that put France at the epicenter of glamour, culture and fashion. The series was brought to life by a critically acclaimed creative team, which includes Executive Producers Simon Mirren (Without a Trace, Criminal Minds), David Wolstencroft (Spooks, The Escape Artist), Claude Chelli (Braquo), Anne Thomopoulos (Rome) and Director Jalil Lespert (Yves Saint Laurent).

On Wednesday, September 28th the cast gathered for a sumptuous dinner at Bagatelle NYC as OvationTV continues to celebrate the 2-hour premiere of the acclaimed drama series, Versailles. The art of food and wine was celebrated by the cast and crew of Versailles.

Ballet at Beautique

On Thursday, September 29th the cast and crew take a journey through French music, style and dance theater performances as OvationTV continues to celebrate the 2-hour premiere of the acclaimed drama series, Versailles. The second night of the 3-day launch event will take place at Beautique, one of New York City’s hottest nightclubs.

Versailles is the newest period drama that allows viewers to escape to a different time; it joins a line of shows like The Tudors, which is also available on Ovation. Versailles premieres on October 1st at 10pm ET/PT.

    I’m always most interested in the costuming for historical shows. I love to see the fabrics, and how the women are dressed. It always seems to spark my creativity in other areas!

    the costumes from that time are unbelievable. ornate and lots of layers. I couldn’t deal with that.
