Mother Daughter Outfits with Monroe and Main

April 20, 2014 By Shelley Zurek 281 Comments

Now and Then — Daughters are like gold!

This is a Fashionista Event Opportunity, and is hosted by Still Blonde after all these YEARS and Modly Chic.
then and now Mother Daughter Outfits

Recreating a favorite photo:The Chief Blonde, Shelley Zurek, with her daughter, Kelly, for Mother’s Day, 2014. Second photo: Walt and Shelley’s wedding–mother and daughter share a moment.

Mother Daughter Outfits

My daughter and I have always loved clothes.  We have bonded over clothes shopping many times (she’s like a life-size Barbie! I love to dress her up!) She adores vintage clothes and bargains, just like I do. We excitedly call one another when obtaining a killer deal or superb clothing find.

These gorgeous pieces from Monroe and Main make it easy for both of us to show off our individual style, yet still look great together.

Monroe and Main Pieces chosen for our Mother’s Day Outfit shoot: Kelly is wearing the Gypsy Ankle Strap Sandal by Fergalicious ($80), Shelley is wearing the Artist Dream Dress ($80-90)

SHOES! SHOES! SHOES!

Now, I wear the same size shoes as my beautiful daughter but there is NO WAY I could have got her to give these blue wedge sandals by Fergalicious to me. She put them on the second she got home from college and wore them back to college after we did this shoot. Her boyfriend loved them which made these fantastic Fergalicious shoes from Monroe and Main an extra big hit!

You can’t go wrong with Monroe and Main shoe selections for spring, they literally have 100s of pairs. Just look at some of these beautiful choices for spring and summer.

Summer Shoe choices Monroe and Main

I had no problem choosing a beautiful dress for myself. The Artist’s Dream Dress from Monroe and Main will undoubtedly be my go to dress for Spring. It has every color of the rainbow in it! I can dress it down with a jean jacket as I did here or I can wear it with a cashmere vintage sweater as I did on Easter! Both looked great! Make sure to look at all of Monroe and Main’s spring selections.

There’s so many awesome choices it is hard to pick just one! Lexi Myrtle Slide by Clarks in white is one that I love as they come in a wide width and can go with so many things.

I love the Phoenix sandal. It is casual and dressy at the same time. You could wear them to the beach or out to dinner.

I love tooo many of the sandals. But for my particular feet; I think I’d choose the Alto Disco Sandal by Clarks. I like that they have them in W and 3 different colors to choose from. 🙂

I like the Largo Shoe by East Street. I have always hated my feet so prefer a sandal that covers them more.

I love these in blue wish I could wear sandals with a heel, but too many history of falls and broke bones, messes with me, so I think that we would enjoy Lily Flower Thong by Stefani #WI550892

I was able to narrow it down to three that I love for different reasons – 1. Cores Quarter Strap Sandal by Hush Puppies – great height and the straps are sexy. 2. Pitch Cocoa Wedge by Clarks – the color, leather and cork wedges are stunning. 3.Studded T-Strap by Midnight Velvet – black, studded and sexy to the max; I’m in lust!
