Menswear! The Never-go-out-of-style Style!
Women over 45 can Rock it Too!

The Chief Blonde is wearing YSL tie as a belt and Kohl’s Sanoma Shirt (both stolen from husband’s closet), Simply Vera by Vera Wang Vest (for Kohl’s $58.00). Stuart Weitzman–Manoman style shoes (too embarrassed to say how much I paid!)
This Menswear outfit shoot is the 3rd part in a series of assignments of the Bloggers Do it Better Series hosted by Kristina over at Pretty Shiny Sparkly. Go over to this >>Bloggers Do It Better prep School Post<< to see the rest of the Bloggers who are taking on this challenge–it’s addictive. Kristina asked that we all wear ties (I wore mine as a belt!) and vests or blazers. The Chief Blonde has participated in the first two outfit challenges as well, you can see Color Blocking–Two Ways and White Out– Change it Up!
Saw these shoes last year on Jessica Biel:
and HAD TO HAVE THEM. HAD TO….
I went on this massive hunt, couldn’t find them in my size ANYWHERE. Oh so then… I actually called a Stuart Weitzman store…Duh! Got them in my size and on sale…WORTH IT..so so cute! I loved the fact that I finally got a chance to show them to all of you! (Hmmm, now can I write them off?)
What’s with all the shots of the stairs? It NEVER stops raining. I don’t think spring exists this year…maybe in other states.
My husband shot these pictures and we had to take several series. He is 6′ 6″ , so when I employ the Menswear style of dressing with his clothes, the ONLY article that could possible fit my 5’4″ frame is his shirts and they become instant dresses! However, the shirt is still immensely HUGE, so I had to do a lot of tucking just to not look like an elephant!
Now here’s another twist on the Menswear Look! (No tie for this one!)

The Chief Blonde is wearing Sonoma Shirt from Kohl’s (stolen from Husband’s closet), Field and Stream Men’s Fishing Vest (Thrifted $15.00, originally $99.00), J. Crew Matchstick Jeans (clearance $11.99–originally $118), Michael Shoes by Michael Kors.
I adore these shoes. Alas, I have never been able to find a back-up pair. They are like high heel Sperry Topsiders which I notice Ralph Lauren showing this year in his American Prep Menswear collections. I have had them for about 5 years and still get compliments–they look great with a khaki skirt as well.
Do you love the Menswear Look?
Have you tried it? Let me know what your favorite part of the style is our which outfit that I modeled that you enjoyed!

OK…LOVE it! I adore the shirt as a dress (and you rocked it out!)…and, your fascination with these shoes reminds me of that episode of Seinfeld when Elaine’s shoes are the topic of conversation. LOL.
As for your Michael Kors shoes, I had a similar pair and I agree…they’re awesome, and it’s hard for such a classic, polished look to ever go out of style.
Stumbled you! Would love if you could stumble me back:

Kristin 🙂
Kristin, I don’t think I have seen that episode of seinfeld (I have the whole set)..going to go find it and watch it! HAHAHA.
Be by to stumble you later this week! The Chief BLonde
It’s the first episode of Season 4, “The Shoes.” A woman spots them on Elaine’s feet in the diner and goes, “Oooohhh, Botticelli’s! Look at you! I’m afraid to go in there.” Elaine freaks out after she leaves and goes to Jerry, “So, Bought a pair of shoes at Botticelli’s, what, I’m not allowed to shop there?”
And, as you can imagine, the shoes remain a recurring theme in the episode. They’re great shoes, by the way! LOL. After that episode, I tried to find a pair myself…ha!
Never thought to use a tie as a belt. So smart!
Wow! Cute outfit….

I haven’t tried it. The part I like is how you wore the man’s shirt as a dress. To be honest, for mysel I prefer a more girly girl look.
I love the first outfit…it is so cute! And those shoes are fabulous! They will be great with so many different outfits…great choice!
