January Favorites

January 8, 2015 By Shelley Zurek 421 Comments

The Chief Blonde’s January Favorites

Wardrobe Investment Basics

I was hoping to make a video of all my favorites, but it didn’t happen. So instead, I’ll will just show you my favorite products/fashions/etc. for January via this blog post. Let me know in the comments if you like the feature or would rather I make a video. All items this month are unsponsored, but I will always tell you when they are sponsored. This month my focus is Wardrobe Investment Basics.

The Wardrobe Basic Sunglasses

Ray Bans Traditional and Oversized

If you are going to invest in one pair of pricey sunglasses, buy a pair of Ray-ban Wayfarers. These glasses are uber-cool, retro and never wrong. Left to right: Ray-Ban Original Wayfarers ($155 via ) and Ray-Ban Outsiders Oversized Wayfarers ($155 via )

The Wardrobe Basic Black Boots

Wardrobe Basic Black Boots

If you head to NYC this season, you will see these Stuart Weitzman over the knee boot everywhere. ($635 via ). You have to try on a pair of Hunter Rain boots just one time to understand why these rain boots are superior in every way to the cheap ones. ($158 via ). These days everyone needs a short black bootie, these British inspired moto-vibed boot Rocket Dog Camilla ($69 via) will be smashing with your favorite moto-jacket and leggings or paired with a edgy skirt.

Wardrobe Basics The Black Tote

Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Multifunction Tote

I am not a huge purse fan. That’s why you’ll almost always see me carrying this tote from Michael Kors. It’s elegant, has pockets and goes with everything. With only one purse, I have more money to spend on shoes. YEAH! ( $295 via Shopbop)

Favorite Consignment Store for picking up Wardrobe Basics

Fashion Project

Fashion Project is a designer clothing donation site where you can donate clothes and a substantial portion of sales goes to your designated charity. You can also buy donated clothes and a majority portion of your purchases go to the charity selected by the donor. It’s such a win-win site and the DEALS ARE INSANE! Many great items from J.Crew, Banana Republic, Coach, Joie, etc. many items are $5. Psst…Watch for their sales, the deals get even sweeter! Wait…What? Here’s my invite link . Below you will see just one of the items I have bought this year (most under $10!).

Hmmm. I hadn’t thought about it. I like an idea of favorites but wouldn’t you run out of material quickly? Maybe something a little more “personal,” random stuff. Like, imagine you met a friend for coffee once a month. What would you talk about? A movie you’d seen? This new TV show you’d started watching? This great shopping expedition? A new restaurant you tried out? You get the idea. (You could talk about all these things in one post, or just one thing.) I know, I’m not being very specific…but that’s how I roll.

Run out of favorites…quickly? You obviously have not seen my closet and cupboards. This could be a blog all onto itself. I could do an entire post of tops that I own that glitter. 4 more posts on my belt collection. Another on shoe ornaments. Kristin, I can’t believe you don’t understand this level of personality yet! I would like to see you change it up every month. Maybe your top choices for outfits one month, cleaners another month, makeup the following month, and accessories, storage, restaurants, etc. in months to come.

I prefer text over videos. I’d be interested in makeup products, books you’ve read or movies you’ve watched, music you’re enjoying right now, household products you’re using, or whatever else you want!
