The Italian Diabetes Cookbook

Italian food has a reputation of being fattening, high in carbohydrates and generally heart-horrible. Americans have taken Italian food, and added a ton of cheese to everything, plus frying things, and turning the food into artery-clogging nightmares. Real Italian food is healthful, delicious, and the most popular cuisine in the world. At its core, classic Italian cuisine is all about preparing fresh ingredients like fruits and vegetables, whole grains, beans, legumes, dairy, seafood, and poultry in time-honored techniques that preserve both tradition and flavor.

I’d like to have the Cortazzo Pomodoro Sauce – Old World Style. Sounds like a sauce that will make pasta taste extra yummy. Thanks.

well since I grow my own tomatoes (about 150) and make my own sauce that I jar, I could use Benedetto Cavalieri 100% Organic Whole Wheat Pennucce…to go with my sauce

The Mini Italian Dinner For Two Gourmet Gift Basket looks tasty and fun. I would like to try that one. But I’m mostly interested in the cook books! We are trying to eat healthier and have gotten in a rut trying to eat foods that have a low glycemic level and would love to win this book.

I would like to try the “Authentic Imported Italian Cheese Collection (22.5 ounce)” because I would like to try the cheeses to make pasta. I have never had piave or Grana Padano Stravecchio Oro del Tempo cheese.
