How to freeze Raspberries and Blackberries

Ingredients
- amount of blackberries or raspberries that you want to freeze
Instructions
- Wash berries thoroughly under cool water in a colander and let dry on a paper towel.
- Line a cookie sheet with wax paper
- Place berries on cookie sheet, one layer deep only
- Freeze for one hour
- Remove from freezer immediately after berries are frozen and store berries in freezer bags or freezer containers
- Place back in freezer until ready to use

Wow. I never thought that much about freezing them. Usually I just throw them in a big lump in a plastic bag without washing them. Thanks for the advice!

I never thought about freezing the berries individually. I usually just toss the container they are in into the freezer. I don’t wash them off until after I thaw them out or just before using the frozen berries. I’ll have to remember to do them this way, so much nicer!

I’ve known how to do this, but I never seem to have room to lay a sheet pan down in my freezer! My freezer stuffed….including with bags of frozen fruit! I adore frozen raspberries and strawberries in particular. Will eat them straight out of the freezer or throw them directly into yogurt. Yum….
