Homemade Cinnamon Vanilla Kettle Corn-- It's crunch on the outside, melts in your mouth, and only takes 10 minutes to make! One batch will satisfy your whole family on any occasion.
Author: Alexzandra O'Donnell
Recipe type: Snack
Serves: 6 servings
Ingredients
  • ½ cup popcorn kernels
  • 3 tablespoons oil (canola, vegetable or coconut oil)
  • ½ cup of white granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Equipment:
  1. Whirly-pop or 4 quart sauce pan with lid and long handled spoon for stirring
  2. Baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
Instructions
  1. Place pan or pot on the stove at a medium-high heat, add oil, and just three of the popcorn kernels, and cover. When the kernels pop, the oil is to temperature and ready.
  2. Add the remaining kernels, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. Quickly stir together to coat all the kernels and cover.
  3. If using a whirly-pop pan, stir as the kernels begin to pop. If using sauce pan, shake the pan frequently as the kernels begin to pop.
  4. Remove from heat when the popping slows down to 1 to 2 seconds between pops.
  5. Kettle corn can be poured onto a parchment or aluminum foil lined baking sheet to cool.

What’s a Whirly-Pop Pan? Great for Kettle Corn?

Whirly Pop Pan

Whirly Pop Pan ($34.65)

The is great for making making plain popcorn or for making kettle corn. The Whirly Pop is a stainless steel pan and detachable lid with patented stirring mechanism and metal gears. For kettle corn you just turn the handle and the stirring mechanism does the work, coating the popcorn evenly and keeping the mixture from burning. You can buy cheaper imitations models. Most people say other versions break often but a Whirly Pop comes with a 25 year warranty. Might be worth the few extra bucks! Here’s the Homemade Cinnamon Vanilla Kettle Corn being made in the Whirly Pop.

I have seen these shakers before but still am not sure if I want to purchase any of those flavors. Often I buy flavored spices and butters and they end up not having a good bold flavor.

I never saw a recipe where you put all the coating in at the same time. It sounds so good, perfect for fall!

Making your own popcorn is a lot more flexible on what you put in it, not to mention a whole lot cheaper.. theatre pop corn is a rip off. I like this

This does sound really good, and I have so much cinnamon. I’m still into everything pumpkin spice and cinnamon from the holidays, it would be fun to try this!

I love this recipe, it is all in one, you don’t need to first pop the corn and then make the add in’s afterward. I’d love to try it, sounds delish!

My mind reels at the idea of Homemade Cinnamon Vanilla Kettle Corn. I’ve tried cinnamon in things like coffee, but it’s all grainy and nasty that way. I suppose it works better with popcorn!

You actually make it appear really easy along with your presentation but I to find this
matter to be really something which I think I’d by no means
understand. It seems too complicated and extremely extensive for
me. I am looking ahead to your subsequent publish, I’ll attempt to get the grasp of it!
