Main Characters:
- Rory Gilmore: (played by Alexis Bledel) the daughter in the Gilmore Girls, who has hopes of attending Harvard
- Lorelai Gilmore: (played by Lauren Graham) owner of the Independence Inn and the mom in the Gilmore Girls who had Rory at 16 and left home as an unwed mother with her young baby
- Emily and Richard Gilmore: (played by Kelly Bishop and Edward Herrman) Lorelai’s wealthy, appearance-obsessed parents
- Luke Danes: (played by Scott Patterson) is the owner of “Luke’s Diner” in Stars Hollow and Lorelai’s friend and then later love interest

- Michel Gerard: (played by Yanic Truesdale) a French concierge who works at the Independence Inn with Lorelai and Sookie
What to watch for as a newbie while watching the marathon (Oct. 4) and series reboot on Monday through Friday, each weeknight beginning Oct. 5:
- Each Gilmore episode is chock full of pop culture references
- Each episode of Gilmore Girls has at least 2 to 3 literary references
- A enormous amount of coffee is consumed during the show. Rory, is the lone holdout, she prefers soft drinks
- A great deal of pizza, junk food and chinese food is consumed, along with burgers and pancakes
For fans and news fans alike: When watching the marathon…why not try?
- See how many pop culture references you can find in each episode: For example, the pilot references over 14 different music, books, and popular culture items. How many can you find?
- As I said, the characters drink a LOT of coffee. Why not view the marathon with a group of friends and take a sip of coffee each time someone in the show does? (Use good sense…LOL!)
- Order pizza and chinese food whenever you watch on Monday through Friday Nights at 7 & 8PM (ET)
- Read all the books, listen to all the music and watch all the movies mentioned in the series. You can google various lists (they tend to differ from list to list).

I am looking forward to watching the pilot. It is one of the few episodes I haven’t seen.
I love the first episode when Rory starts going to her new school and Lorelei takes her in her pajamas. I have watched every episode multiple times it’s one of those shows you can watch over and over.
Pilot, I watched this show and so happy it’s being shown again.
I loved “Rory’s Dance” because when loreali’s back goes out and Rory was going to her first dance, loreali’s mother was staying to help her and this time they seemed like they were mother & daughter! Which for them is very rare!!
I want to see the Pilot because I would like to rewatch this series from the beginning.
That’s an easy one for me. Loreilai and Luke’s first date!
I am excited to see them all. I have seen every episode before so it would be fun to start over. I remember the really liking the episode with Cinnamon’s Wake.
i honestly have never watched this i would love to binge watch on netflix! or hulu if its available it looks good!
I think Double Date sounds intricate and fun. A great show to watch with my own grown daughter.
I like the one with Rory’s Birthday Parties! Because it seems like the first time her Grandparents realize that they are part of her life now….it’s a happy one.
I like the one with Rory’s Birthday Parties!
deerhunters with my bestie- its one of my fav episodes and shes never seen the show!
I want to see the pilot I love watching shows from start to finish
I’d like to see this one because it sounds like it would be funny. uptv.com/shows/gilmore-girls/episodes/season-1/the-lorelais-first-day-at-chilton/
I am excited for the Love War & Snow episode. I like snow and this sounds like a good one with getting snowed in.
i LOVE this show!! i’ve seen the entire series more than once. i would love to rewatch The Third Lorelai right now. 🙂
I have never seen Gilmore Girls although my parents loved the show. And my son and his wife had a dog named Paulanka that was apparently the name of the dog on the show?
When I heard they were doing a reboot, I decided to give it a try. So, all that to say, I guess I’m looking forward to the Pilot most of all!
I’d watch the Deer Hunter. I like all the shows about Rory and her grades.
The Pilot because I always like to start at the beginning, I have a hard time coming in after the premise is set. I never got into the Gilmore Girls but I think my daughter was a watcher, I’ll have to check it out.
I would be interest in seeing the episode, “Rory’s Dance.” I love the romantic undertones in many of the episodes of this quirky, wonderful show!
