Finding Summer, Outfits Modeled by Women over 45 #ThisisStyle

April 25, 2013 By Shelley Zurek 23 Comments

I Need to Find some Summer, Winter just will not LEAVE!

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias®  and Sears #cbias #SocialFabric #ThisisStyle

View from my Window

This is the view from my window today.  It is snowing (you may not be able to see it, but it is) and it’s cold and miserable.

View from my Window

This is how I yearn for it to look out of my window…sunny, trees filled with leaves and flowers everywhere.

Since I am not going to find summer in my real world, at least not in Michigan, at least not outside, I am going to have to find it elsewhere.  So I decided to get out of the house, go shopping and see if a few summer fashions wouldn’t help lift my mood.

I am a member of Sears “Shop your Way” but I had never used my points before at the store.  After checking my balance I realized I had $4 in points that were going to expire soon.  I also found a great coupon for $10 off of $50 in Sears apparel.  Once I downloaded the Sears “Shop Your Way” app to my iPad, I headed out to my local Sears store to find some sunshine and affordable fashion.

Finding Summer … at Sears!

ThisiisStyle

Walking from the dreary rainy parking lot, I was greeted just as I walked in the door by this lovely “Destination Sun” display.  Tons of swimsuits and cover ups were featured.  Just what a girl needs to get shake the rainy spring funk!

I had such fun getting out of the house and into the Sears store. Realizing  how holed up in the house I have been, made the trip even more exciting.  I got perfect beachwear while I was there too!

Finding Summer

The Chief Blonde shows her dressing room style wearing Pink Metallic Sandals (Sears $19.99), Cover up (Sears $20.00)  and Pink Ombre Scarf (Sears $14.99). All clothing Sears Fashions.

Finding Summer

The Chief Blonde shows her second dressing room style wearing Pink Metallic Sandals ($19.99), Cover up ( $20.00) , Floppy Hat with zebra highlights ( $14.40), Flower Pin ($.99), Clear Polka Dot Bag ($1.99), and Shades ($20.00).  All clothing Sears Fashions.

Not only did I feel more summery when I finished shopping but I saved $14.00 with my “Sears Your Way” and that doesn’t even include the sales discounts.  What Women over 45 doesn’t LOVE getting a great look and saving some money for drinks by the pool?

I am originally from NJ so I remember dreary days. Live in Arizona and the sun is always shining so I now I miss snow. It is hard to find clothes here in Arizona that are appropriate for the season as they follow the East Coast.

I like the one with the black bow on your dress and the black and white bag. You look nice it it as usual. Talk about the weather tho – its suppose to snow here tonight. We already have flowers blooming and had days that reached 70* already – Mother Nature must be angry.

Not everyone looks good in a hat, including me. But you do; go with the hat.

Hi Shelley, You look great in both, but I love the look on the left! Love it! Just so you don’t feel too bad, the view out my window looks just like yours. We’re in PA, and it’s currently cold and raining. No leaves, no flowers, no sun! Have a great week!
