Motherly Fashion Advice
Fashion Advice for Women over 45
The Chief Blonde and her Mom
I wouldn’t say I got all my fashion sense from my mom but there was a lot of great fashion tips she gave me that stuck with me through the years. Without further ado, here’s the Chief Blonde’s Mom’s Fashion Advice and I am pretty sure that your mom’s advice is similar!
Five Fashion tips from YOUR MOM
1. It never hurts to dress like your mom sometimes. (See picture above…this was a total accident…we showed up a restaurant in virtually the same outfit)
2. Wear a hat. Hats are very useful you see. They keep your ears warm and keep your skin from getting burned.
3. Take a jacket. You can always take a jacket off but if you are freezing and you didn’t bring one then you have a bigger problem.
4. Wear Comfortable Shoes. HAHAHAHAHA. You KNOW I ignored this one. See picture below!

5. Wear Clean Clothes. This seems like pretty obvious fashion advice but I can’t tell you the number of times I have went and changed my clothes because I could hear my mother’s voice ringing in my ears.

Think, think, think. Think things through because you have to live with your decisions.
My mother always said to forgive and forget. She was always very generous with her ability to let go when we did something wrong.
Only you can make yourself happy, don’t depend on someone else.
Don’t get pregnant :p
Actually I don’t think she ever actually said that…but it was sure implied by all talks about not letting them boys take advantage!
As for fashion advice…she always told me I looked good in dark colors…which may have been because I really loved dark colors….and to wear what I felt good in.
She told me to “never lose sight of your faith.”
When I went to collage she told me to be sure and have fun
Always coordinate your ‘costumes”.
sometimes it’s good to be selfish!!!! 🙂
I wouldn’t say it was advice so much as a lesson she taught us- to be understanding and accepting of everyone regardless of differences and disabilities…we were raised in a house where the r-word (retard) was as bad as any curse word, and I truly think these lessons prepared me to have my own child with Autism.
Just because your friends are jumping off a bridge, doesn’t mean you have to!
My mom used to tell me “Just wait one day you will grown up and have kids of your own and they will act just like you” You know what she was telling me the truth and sure enough I see things in my kids that I used to do and I also see that in my grandchildren also. Funny how mom’s are always right. Love them.
Think for yourself, and always respect yourself
Find a man that treats you with respect and that believes and loves God. Moreover, as a woman, be confident and humble, be generous and kind and most importantly just be you.
do unto others as you would do unto them.
My mom’s best advice was to not care what others think & to do what I wanted.
My mom always told me, “Just because someone calls you a chair, it doesn’t make you a chair.”
My mom told me when my daughter was born to not worry about the dishes or how clean the house was but to instead focus on my kids. There are days I am up hours after they go to bed cleaning but if they are happy and healthy that is what ultimately matters. If someone complains about my house,I am happy to show them to the cleaning supplies and let them at it.
My mom has given me so much great advice over the years it’s hard to pick one.
stay true to yourself and Keep the Faith!
The best advice from my mom – give myself and the people around me (like my husband) a break. Not everything has to be perfect.
