Wouldn’t you appreciate a NATURAL Memory Foam Pillow?
Essentia Classic Pillow Review
Essentia Classic Pillow $199
For this Essentia Classic pillow review, I was provided samples for review.
The Chief Blonde Remarks: I was sent an Essentia Classic Pillow for review. I currently sleep on a Latex Pillow so I was excited to contrast the Essentia Classic pillow to my own. The Essentia Classic pillow is made from Natural Memory Foam. Essentia and Tempur-pedic are the only Natural Memory Foam pillow producers in the North America.
What is NATURAL memory foam?
Essentia Natural Memory Foam is is made using hevea milk (rubber tree sap). It feels like the memory foam we all know and love, but it’s made without the gunk. Gunk you say? Yes, other memory foam manufactures claim to have eco memory foam, plant-based foam or containing natural properties, boasting green tea memory foam, Bio-Pur memory foam or soy memory foam. But alas, as noted by Essentia, in all cases, petroleum based foam is used, with 2-15% of the petroleum being replaced with soy or cedar oil, allowing the product to be promoted as “natural” or “eco-friendly”. Not very “Natural” in my book.
Latex Pillows versus Natural Memory Foam Pillows?
Latex mattresses are known for being durable, natural and healthy. Memory foam mattresses are known for their pressure relief and comfort…but are full of gunk. That’s why Essentia invented a natural memory foam. Essentia has an extensive discussion on this topic over on their website which I found fascinating. Yes, it’s a discussion presented by the manufacturer of Natural Memory Foam. I found it to be quite balanced. Read: What’s better, Latex or Memory Foam Mattresses?
My final weigh in of Natural Memory Foam versus Latex
I love my Latex pillow. I have had one since I was tiny due to my excessive allergies to feather pillows. When I tried the Essentia Classic Pillow, I was dubious. The Classic pillow is made from 100% Natural Memory Foam, weighs in at 5 pounds, and is designed to mold itself to your exact body shape to evenly distribute head and neck weight, reducing pressure that often causes stiffness, poor sleep, and pain. Essentia Products are made in Canada
Each night when I slept on the pillow, I had a hard time going to sleep. It was not “My” pillow so I think it took some time to develop a comfortable relationship with it. On the flip side, each morning I woke up from a deep sleep, lovely dreams and no aches and pains. My latex pillows always take some time to get rid of the “Smell” before I can sleep on them. Not true with the Classic Essentia. I slept on it from the first night I received it and noticed no latent smell. My overall opinion? Better than almost all other pillow I have slept on and equivalent to my latex pillow.

My perfect pillow for my tired old head would be this one when I am in bed – Classic from essential would allow a full nights sleep whether on my back, or stomach or side I sleep.
I like the ergonomic because I am a side sleeper and it looks most comfy.
The Forma Spa pillow because I am a side sleeper.
My favorite is the Forma Spa pillow. Side sleeper and appreciate the fact that it is ventilated for cooler sleeping.
Well I can not decide between the Ergonomic and the Forma Spa.They are both for side sleepers and have neck support, which I need but other pillows have seemed TOO much. The Forma Spa is the more expensive of the two so if I was buying I would have to try the Ergonomic first 🙂
My favorite is the Ergonomic because I am mostly a side or back sleeper.
I would love to try a Swayback. I’m not sure if my problem is the pillow being too thick but I would still like to try one. I’ve tried just about every other type of pillow out there already.
I’m a side sleeper, so I think the Ergonomic pillow would be best for me!
Think I’ll go with The CLASSIC because that’s how I roll.
I like the comfort because I have tried other types before and it doesn’t seem to work with me so I think I better stick to the traditional type.
The ergonomic because it is designed for side & back sleepers and I sleep on my side.
The swayback, I like thinner pillows
I like the ergonomic pillow because I need a pillow that will support my neck well. I always wake up with a stiff neck.
I like the Comfort. I need something that conforms to my sleep style. I have been having awful neck issues as I sleep.
I like the Forma Spa pillow because it’s designed for back and side sleepers which I am both. It also looks very comfortable!
I’m going to say my favorite is the Ergonomic. I like the shape!
I like the Classic because I think that would help with my neck pain. I’m looking for a good pillow now because I’m tired of waking up with a headache everyday. My neck is always so sore!
the forma pillow perfect for my wife and I side sleepers. thankyou, ken
I like the Ergonomic because it’s the shape I’m used to.
Thanks for the contest.
the ergonomic pillow, it would be best for me as I am a side sleeper, thank you
