Do Seniors Need Unlimited Phone Plans?
Here’s why everyone MIGHT need an Unlimited Plan:
- Need more data than a traditional limited data can provide
- Need unlimited streaming–get your Netflix or Youtube or Podcasts all day, all the time
- Sick of data overage charges
- Don’t want to THINK about their data, they want to just use it!
Here’s why seniors and boomers MIGHT or WANT an Unlimited Plan:
- All the reasons stated above
- Avoid purchasing home internet via cable or satellite
- Ease of understanding (many cell phone plans are complicated with many limitations), Unlimited plans for seniors are usually very easy to understand and more than adequate for most seniors needs.
- Sometimes, senior unlimited plans are a cheaper option with more flexibility than other offered plans by their carrier

This is good for a couple, but doesn’t save me any money for just one line. I pay $40 a month with T-Mobile
Now that my mom lives with us, we switched her over to our unlimited plan. However, she never uses her phone to text, take photos, or search for things. She only uses it to make calls and take calls. lol
Interesting, lots of phone plans out there, good to know about these.
This does sound like a wonderful plan to be on, I just turned 55 and I am definitely in need of a better phone plan. Thanks for the tips.

I can see where this would be good for some people who use their phones a lot. I currently pay $40/month and have never run over my 3G data.
My mom still has her flip phone. No way she could ever work a smart phone. She uses consumer cellular and that works great for her.
Some seniors might need it. I don’t. I have a TracFone pay as you go plan. It costs me approximately $10 a month and for that I get more minutes and data than I normally use. The time (3 months) runs out first. I always have minutes and data left over (they never expire). If I am going on a trip I purchase additional data if necessary (about $10 for a gig) to ensure that I have the use of Google maps for my whole trip. Works well for me but then I don’t use my phone for anything much other than phone calls, an occasional picture, Google maps when traveling and solitaire. It is, however, my home phone.
This is a great deal. Thank you. I just turned 56 so this is awesome
I’m not sure if they need it, but it would been nice.
I know a lot of people who would benefit from this plan. Thanks.
Such a great deal which i didn’t know about so will check it out. My mom was shopping around so I will share the info with her too. Love to save $$$.
Very informative! Love the dress 🙂
That sounds like a helpful plan for fans of Verizon. Thanks.
This is cool, I didn’t know Verizon has a plan like this. I don’t have a cell phone or smart phone, and have been thinking of getting one. I want to check into it!
I think seniors should have unlimited so that they can be checked on anytime without worry of running out of minutes and they get lonely and talk alot
Yes they do they have a budget
Seniors may see a bit of savings on their data plans with the Go Unlimited 55+ plan. Readers, please note – the Verizon Go Unlimited 55+ offer is only available to those with a Florida, Illinois, Missouri, Texas or Detroit, Michigan, billing address.
I don’t need unlimited data. I have 2- 3 Gigs and never go over it. My T-mobile plan costs me $40 a month.
I love this plan! And with grandkids, I definitely need the unlimited usage!
We are looking into a phone plan.I do not know how to avoid internet costs (hotspotting’ on a phone. That would be great to get rid of cable finally.
