RECIPE Nuts! Clipix can help you SEE what you want to MAKE!
Recipe Hoarder
I will admit it now. I have been a recipe hoarder my entire life. When I was in college, I bought every single Family Circle magazine and religiously tore out all the recipes and stored them in a box–and did NOTHING with them. When I was in Graduate School and early in my marriage, I copied down all the family recipes and stored them in recipes boxes. Once again, they pretty much just sat there in that pretty little box. When I had my children, I collected recipes books and lined my kitchen cupboards with them–I did use them a bit more because they had pictures and held excellent suggestions as to what to make.
In my 40s, when I could afford upscale magazines like Martha Stewart and I actually had the skills and time to execute these recipes–I started to make my own scrapbook recipe books. I really used these recipes more then I ever had any other because they were exactly what I wanted to make and all the pictures and nutrition information was right at my finger tips. Yet, it was hard to see them all at the same time and I had to do all the work to organize!
Going Visual, Going Digital
In my 50s, thank goodness a a new service has come along that I have just tried called clipix. It’s a free and useful online tool where I can finally organize all the recipes that I see online in a visual way (not just text bookmarks). It’s like having an online cookbook that I enjoy organizing and using. The process is so easy too. I just put a little “clip” tool into my tool bar right from the clipix website (3 seconds work max) and then I just started “clipping”. The first thing I did was go to all my text bookmarked recipes and made separate clipix boards. You can see my board for vegetable recipes above. PRETTY NEAT RIGHT?
You might want to think about signing up for clipix today. You can set your own privacy settings and clip whatever you want to, into as many boards as you want!
WHAT WOULD YOU do with clipix? Crafts? Makeup? Outfit Idea? Hairstyles?
