Did you save them? Those wonderful old cassette tapes that you so carefully curated? Today’s discussion ION Boombox Deluxe Bluetooth Speaker brought to you by Best Buy will make you wish you had!
Remember recording off the radio?
Yep that’s me, second from the right, back in my senior year. I am pretty sure I was the reigning geek! But one thing I got for graduation that made me extra cool was a boombox. A BIG one. Once I got it, I spent hours trying to catch my favorite songs on the radio and then make a great mix tape.
Features that will rock your 1980s heart!
- A powerful, full-featured boombox styled just like the classic boomboxes you remember.
- It has a high-quality cassette tape player/recorder that plays your entire tape collection, plus you can make new recordings off the AM/FM radio, with the built-in microphone or from an external source. (Retro fun!)
- If radio recordings are sooo 1980s for you, BoomBox Deluxe streams music wirelessly from any Bluetooth®-enabled device and it has USB playback capability to handle virtually any other music source including WAV, MP3s and even stereo cassettes.
- For you audiophiles (that’s what we used to call techy music people back in the day), it has
- two VU meters look great and help you dial in your recordings at just the right level.
- Two robust full-range speakers powered by 14 watts of system power crank out powerful bass and clear highs.
- Bass and treble controls, you can customize the tone to your exact taste.
Oh! Here’s one more feature that is definitely and huge improvement over the boomboxes of yesterday, a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that provides up to 10 hours of play! EEK! I almost forgot, the last bonus, you can record all your old cassettes onto a USB stick such that you can archive them and not worry about them breaking or getting tangled. The ION Boom Box Deluxe gives you all the fun of the 80s with all the improvements of 2019! Score!

I think this would make a great fathers day present! I’m sure it would end up on the workbench. My dad would be very familiar with the design but also know how to use it’s more modern functions as well!

I still have an old boom box from around the 80’s or 90’s. It still works well. It’s not Bluetooth though. It has an antenna and a tape player. Of course, the one you described sounds awesome and would definitely have better sound quality. This was pin worthy! Thank you for sharing!
