Animal Prints– Outfits Modeled by Women over 45

October 9, 2011 By Shelley Zurek 26 Comments

GRRR!  Animal Prints for Fall!

Animal-Print-Women-over-45-2

Outfits Modeled by Women over 45!–The Chief Blonde is wearing Dana
Buchman for Kohl’s Jacket (12.99–on sale 90% off), Jennifer Lopez for Kohl’s Dress
($35–%50 off with coupon), Hale Bob Vintage Shoes ($35 Ebay),  Hosiery–Victoria Secrets

Being a fantastic Fall Day  enabled my photographer (technical Editor Walt) to capture this picturesque outside shot for our ongoing feature Outfits Modeled by Women over 45. An “Animal Skins” Outfit Post was the latest Challenge from Bloggers Do it Better Fashion Series–and I gladly took it on.  Walt and I were on our way home from church, and the weather could not have been more glorious so we slipped on to our back veranda and got these sun filled shots.

TWINS?

Yes, you are seeing 2 of exactly the same dress.  My twin (Nelley) stopped in and she had on the brown version..while I prefer the Ivory!  As soon as I laid eyes on this dress, a signature piece in the Jennifer Lopez line from Kohl’s  I knew I had to have it.  So I waited for a sale AND a 30% off coupon and then I pounced.  The dress fits like a glove and I know that I can just layer it up, all fall.  I might even steal Nelley’s brown dress and really mix things up!

JLO-Collection-Kohls

Looks just like me Right?  Maybe next time, I’ll try this pose?

OR IS J-LO MY TWIN?  (BAHAHAHHA)

Now that I am a certain age, I realize you can never have too much of a good thing..so when you find a great dress or pair of jeans or shoes..get them in every color…you’ll always kick yourself if you don’t!  So I think the brown and the ivory are a good choice in the J-Lo dress!  This Dana Buchman jacket was such a steal…I got it at the end of the season last year at 90% off.  I feel like a thief because it is SOOOOOO cute, it covers all the right places and fits like the  designer piece that it is!

Did you notice that I and Kate Middleton and the Kardashians all have something in common?  HMMMM?  Yup, that’s right I too am wearing pantyhose (or hosiery as I prefer to call it).  I am super psyched that hosiery is back in style as my legs are very ghastly pale and hose were the only things that ever saved me.

I am pleased to have the opportunity to link up this post to Not Dead Yet Style for her weekly Monday Visible Monday Fashion Series!

So Would you or Do you wear Animal Print?  When was the last time you bought two of a item of clothing?

I love animal prints. I have a purse in tiger print and I always get compliments when I use it! Buying 2 of the same item is sound advice. If you like it you know you will be unhappy when the front is ruined by the coffee stains.

What a fun post. When I was a teen, I had no idea that I would enjoy fashion through the entire adult life span (well, at least up to this point; I’m only midlife, so I most likely have decades to go). I can see why you bought two of those dresses; it’s working on you! I buy almost all of my clothes at thrift stores, but sometimes I see donations of the same item in different colors. They haven’t fit me yet, but I assume they were donated by the same woman, especially when they are the same size. Keep beautifying the world with your fashion choices.

I buy more than two of some things. But I have to be sure that I really like it. I don’t have any animal print items…but seeing that on you…I could go for that.

I love those shoes in the first picture. The dress looks great on you too.

First of all you (both) look lovely. I am digging how you rocked the back in style hosiery trend and agree with an Iowa winter I couldn’t be happier that it is.
I am a dork I guess but when I find something that fits all over and I look good, I buy it in twos. Though my typically is a black and white, I have been straying from that to add some deep red and think the brown would do me some good too.
Now for the animal prints… ugh I left this one till the end b/c I am ashamed to say that I am terrified of them on my figure (which is round and round some more). I am working on that though.

Teri, Animal Print can be a real distraction and eye drawer (as in away from things). Keep that in mind and GO FOR IT!

Sadly, the only animal print I own anymore is a very pretty scarf, which I don’t wear enough! You look great, and that dress looks very good on you, in either color!

I have no animal prints at the moment. But you looked so good…I might have to go try some on and see.

I loved those shoes too…no way I’m gonna be wearing heels though.
