911–It was Simply Horrible!
Sept. 11 Was horrible. Is there another word that encapsulates the day? The most terrifyingly awful day! I had lived through many awful days, the day the President was shot..two of them. The day the pope was shot. The day John Lennon was shot. The day that Princess Diana died. The day the space shuttle blew up. The day my marriage blew up. Nothing compared, for me, to the day that 3000 Americans perished. Women over 45 have seen so many tragedies during their lifetime. I will Never Ever forget! Will you?
Join me in pausing today and remembering those who lost their lives to a senseless act. Also, remember those who lost their lives in trying to save those who were in peril. I pray that God will bless their families and protect our country from atrocities such as this in the future.

I’m always sleeping on my side. Your pillow would help me with my back and shoulder problem. It would be wonderful to sleep with this well needed “helping” pillow.

Don’t forget that there were 67 British victims, plus many other foreigners who died in this tragedy. I remember vividly watching it on TV at work with colleagues including my manager, who happened to be an American, with a sense of disbelief. We felt it as deeply as he did. I can still picture those dreadful scenes and the horror of watching people jump from the building.
It’s one of three scenes that will always haunt me, the others being the security videos of young Jamie Bulger being led away from the shopping centre and Damilola Taylor skipping along happily, both taken shortly before they were killed.

I was in college in Midtown Manhattan on September 11th. I will never forget the day or the days surrounding it. I will never forget being at the Pierre Hotel and sitting in the ballroom with all the families from Cantor Fitzgerald waiting to hear any news on their loved ones. All 658 of its employees who were in the office at the time (out of 960 who were based there) were killed.

Have you ever blogged about this? How about the dogs of 9/11 both would make excellent posts for next year! How did you end up at the Pierre with all the families of Cantor Fitzgerald (I remember their CEO talking on TV)? Was one of your relatives there? Hugs for the days. Shelley

I was a sophomore in college, and remember feeling like I was watching a movie. It was so hard to believe it was real, and yet… it was. Horrifying, terrifying, and surreal is how I’d describe it. I won’t ever forget that day, or talking to my mom on the phone that morning.
Melissa Lawler says
Not only do we not forget but we also have a different perspective than those who were children when this happened.

I will remember all the men and women who give their lives daily so that what happened 11 years ago hasn’t happened since.

I went to school (Pacific Coast) that day, I woke up to my mom saying “They’re flying planes into the towers”. It was like a dream, I remember rubbing my eyes and stumbling half awake into the living room. The first plane had just hit, and now there was feed of the Pentago, and a field. I didn’t quite comprehend. When I arrived on campus each and every classroom door was open. There was no body in the quad, children gathered around door, huddles around the eerie glow. If your classroom had a TV, it was on; if you did not, the sound of horrified newscasters came through the radio. Teachers, with relatives who worked there collapsed onto the floor; that was when it became real. Everything we watched, the people taking their own lives to simply escape- it was like some horrific disaster film. But it was real. The scariest film I would ever watch, and the only one that will resonate with me until I die. No, we will never forget 9/11.

I will never forget this day. I’m so thankful my uncle and aunt survived that day. My uncle was in the south tower and my aunt was in the north tower. This is just a sad day all together. So many families lost their loved ones.

Have you ever Blogged their story Tiffany? I think it would be relevant for next year!

That is some trip down memory lane. Because of where I live, Columbine is also up there. I thought nothing could be more devastating than that.

I remember. And for a moment I am silent.
